Comments about M.H.Bertucci A-2T Vintage Watch - Leather Strap:

If you shop around, you'll be hard pressed to find a cheaper titanium field watch in black, with a Swiss movement (although it was cased in China). Not that a Swiss quartz is any better or worse than a Japanese quartz.

It gains about 5-10 seconds per month, which is about average. The second hand lines up almost exactly to the tick marks, as does the minute hand which just reaches the marks making the exact time clearly legible. I really like the offset crown and in general the quality for the price.

My only real complaint is with the buckle they chose to use with this band; except for the numbers and markings on the dial, this is otherwise a black-out style watch, but then there's that oh so chunky silver buckle. Why Bertucci, why?? On my other Bertucci, the A2-T original with date, which is not black but rather titanium case, it came with their nylon band which has a black buckle, so go figure. Some people won't care and somebody might actually prefer it, it's a good quality leather band, but unless you like that look, I'd go with the nylon band instead.

I am still wearing it. I thought I had given up on analog watches 20 years ago. I have the ultimate digital watch (Timex Datalink USB) and swore by it. But I LOVE the look of this watch. I saw the black version in Wired magazine and I was finally able to purchase it- I have the nylon band instead of this leather version. I put it on and immediately disliked not knowing the date. The band was stiff and took a while to remove the watch. Went back to the Timex and had to take it off to do yard work (face scratches easily). Put on the Bertucci- don't have to worry about this one getting scratched! Go for long hike-change watch. Go do woodworking- change watch. I finally just started wearing the watch all the time. And it's great! I love the look, band is worn in and is now extremely comfortable, easy to get on and off. I charge up the hands before turning out the lights and can read it most of the night.
Never thought I would see the day that I would give up wearing my digital watch.
