The compact, dependable Petzl e+LITE® headlamp is a great replacement for that bulky flashlight in your glove box or emergency kit!

  • Uses 2 CR2032 lithium batteries (included) that have a shelf life of up to 10 years, offering worry-free operation when you need it most
  • Designed to operate in extreme temperatures, from -22°F to +140°F (-30°C to +60°C)
  • 3 white LEDs provide even lighting throughout your field of view, without blank spots in the beam; throws a beam up to 19m
  • Single red LED aids your ability to see in the dark without experiencing night blindness caused by a rush of bright light against the eye
  • White and red flashing modes can be used for signaling
  • Rotating lockable power switch controls light modes: maximum, economy and flashing strobe
  • For added versatility, the lamp can be removed from its headstrap and, using its integrated clip, mounted to a belt, cap brim or pack strap
  • Light source rotates 360° on a ball joint—increasing versatility in tight quarters
  • Removable elastic band features a cordlock that allows the headlamp to be worn on the head or wrist, or secured to a fixed object
  • Cordlock doubles as a long-range whistle than can be used to signal for help; features an SOS Morse code illustration on the side
  • Waterproof down to 1m, making the e+LITE safe to use in a downpour
  • Included protective carrying case measures a mere 3.25 x 1.75 in.

      Like the title says, I really wanted to like this. Well, it seemed bright enough at first (not as bright as a regular headlamp using AAA batteries, but ok). I figured that its sleek design would compensate.

      Well it held up decently on my fist night hike and my fist backpacking trip with it - very lightweight. Even though I didn't use it much, I figured I'd replace the batteries before my next trip. Well it turned out I didn't have time - I figured, no worries, hadn't used it much at all...

      I had been using my fiance's spare headlamp a lot of the trip because I kept leaving this in the tent. Well we went to climb some peak with pretty treacherous footing...and lo and behold the light barely had any juice at all. Our decent back down was extremely sketchy since I had barely any light. I went and got a tikka xp and haven't looked back.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        I used this headlamp on my 2009 thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail and was very pleased with it. It's not as lightweight as the itty-bitty Photon lights that the hardcore ultralight backpackers use, and it's not as bright as a Tikka, but I think it's a great balance between weight savings and usability. I especially like that you can turn on the red beam without having to cycle through the white beam and interrupt your night vision. The red beam was sufficient for reading a map or finding a snack in the dark, and then I used the white beam in the infrequent occasions when I had to set up or break camp in the dark.

            I use this head lamp anytime I am camping. Every camper needs to have a headlamp. Having both hands free to hanndle after dark chores and navigating to the bathroom/ tree is invaluable.

            I started off with a bulky headlamp that had a great beam of light, but was awkward on my head, and I could never get the strap tightness right. (It left a band mark across my forehead)

            The first time I purchased this light was at a different store, and I fell in love. I like that this head lamp has several light features, including regular white light, brighter white light, red light (good for not ruining everyone's night vision)and even blinking red and white lights.

            A great advantage to this light is that it has a simple lock function. Simply move the tab all the way to either side of the unit and the light is securely locked. It wont easily come on in your pocket or bag, draining the battery.

            It also comes with a great handy light weight caring case. Perfect for caring the headlamp and even an extra set of batteries!

            I misplaced my first lamp. But I happily went to REI to buy the same lamp again. My mother then purchased hers, then my aunt got the same one, and finally we purchased one for my dad as a gift (he had been using my old bulky headlamp)He really likes the clip in the device that can be used to clip to the bill of his baseball cap.

            This unit is so light and compfy, I often forget it is on my head and sleep with it on!

            No cons at all. And this is the first product I have ever written a review for on REI!

              i bought this, cuz it was the best thing it seems for the money! at only [$]! with red, and flashing, and white! i thought it looked awesome...and it is!! but now i've been thru 2 of these, cuz they're a bit finiky! good product! but must be babied, and stored when not in use!!!

                I love this thing! The switch won't accidentally go on in your backpack but you can set it so that it's easy to turn on even when wearing gloves or mittens. The adjustable beam is great and the whole thing is very light. Even has a rugged little carrying case. Flawless design. Tip o' the hat, Petzl!
