The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Yakima RailGrab Towers - Set of 4:
I'm not sure if the other reviewer has his Birkenstocks on a little too tight but I found the Rail Grab simple and easy to install… and I'm a girl!!! Bought them from the local REI at their Anniversary Sale and put them on that afternoon. Can't get more simpler… single allen wrench is all you need[...]. Not sure what the running around is all about (maybe he can't read the tape measure) but I took my time and I spent about a half an hour and it was on and locked. No problems or issues so far and it's as steady as a rock… great product.

Comments about Yakima RailGrab Towers - Set of 4:
I've had Q-towers in the past; I've never been thrilled with the way they attach to the car. This rack isn't a huge improvement, but at least it is solid. Yakima shines from the bars up, but their towers seem to leave a lot to be desired. This particular set is solid, but potentially unforgiving with regards to improper adjustments.
At any rate-- If you find the provided claws do not quite fit your car (in particular your Subaru Forester 2009-2011), you can call Yakima direct and they will send you their "medium" claws at no additional cost. No big deal if you're not in a hurry.

This rack is rock solid. After a few adjustments of the claw it fits perfect. Mounted it to the factory rack on a 05 Toyota Forerunner. Will be hauling canoe to MN this summer. Should have no problems. I have been using Yakima products for over 20 years and have never had any problems.
Even comes with a set of end caps for your crossbars.

Comments about Yakima RailGrab Towers - Set of 4:
This product sucks.
First of all it is terribly difficult to install, requiring you to walk from side to side on the car to get it "just" right a thousand times.
It is a total pain and is not secure. The bolt on the back is exposed so theoretically, despite the lock, someone could unscrew it and steal the whole wrack with your stuff on it.
The Thule Crossroads has a solid rubber and steel strap that goes over the rails and secures in 5 minutes or less. This product I tinkered with for 2 hours and finally felt that it would never truly make me feel secure on the freeway ever.
Don't do it. Sucks, sucks, sucks.

Piece of cake to install. Easy as the video shows. Rock solid. Engineers deserve a pat on the back - so well designed that it has a low profile and looks better than the factory equipment! Contrary to the earlier report, the Tower is NOT unsecure. The knobs on the Tower are only to position the clamps. Once positioned, interlocking teeth hold the clamp in place and after you have used the hex wrench to tighten the clamp, the clamp is secure. YOu can remove the knob and the clamp remains locked in place via the teeth - well thought out. Likewise, the ability to store the hex tool in the rack is brilliant. Love the look, love the solid functionality. Prefer this method over use of a rubber band because I would be worried about the rubber becoming brittle over time/temps. Again, kudos to the engineers and Yakima...

Comments about Yakima RailGrab Towers - Set of 4:
I have been a Yakima rack fan for over 15 years. I have always been impressed by their design and quality. However, I must say that this is the most infuriating product I have had the unfortunate displeasure to be acquainted with in all these years. It is an engineering failure. It is the most cumbersome, awkward, physically demanding apparatus one could ever imagine. The goal is simple: attach a horizontal rack that would allow one to secure various items, such as skis, to the roof of a car. Yakima has made this endeavor so impossibly complicated, I can only shake my head in disgust. I have been impressed with their other versions of rack mounting hardware, plus the fact that I've got over a grand invested in their products, that I never thought twice about buying this new mounting system for a new car. I would personally like to meet the person that designed this thing, so that I could slap him or her upside the head. It is an incredibly aggravating experience to remove or reinstall this profane device. As you could probably guess, I just spent the last 45 minutes trying to get the thing mounted "just right", so I can go skiing tomorrow morning at the Canyons, where they just got 18" of fresh powder....
Anyway, I can only hope and pray that the engineers go back to the drawing board and devise a simpler, quick release system that won't cause me to go online to cry and moan about their latest creation. This is a horrible, horrible product.

I bought this rack yesterday at the sale - [$] off. It installed in maybe a half hour and is very stable. I installed my ski rack, but have not put the bike rack on yet. I have to say it couldn't have been easier to install and seems solid as a rock. I would definitely recommend this and the 20% off makes it reasonably affordable. Added locks also.

We bought and installed these to move our rack system onto our mini-van. They were easy to install and are very stable. Anohter excellent product from Yakima. It probably took me 30 minutes to install them. I did have to look at the instructions. I would by them again if we lost these...

Comments about Yakima RailGrab Towers - Set of 4:
Not a good fit with the 2010 Subaru Forester factory rails. The small claw does not extend far enough, the large claw does not retract far enough. With the large claw the "claw" extends below the roof rail, so you have to rely on the curved portion above the claw for one of your contact points, (3 contact points recommended). Like the design and concept for the right rails, just don't bother with the Subaru factory rails...leave to Subaru to use a rail system that pushes hard to make you use their overprice accessories.
