The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I bought these for a trip to the UK and they performed admirably. The downside is they run tight, wrinkle easily (even on a hanger) and you cannot put them in the dryer. The specific warning that you cannot put them in a dryer is a killer for me and this fact with the tightness of fit means they have been relegated to the back of the closet and replaced by the ExOfficio Waymark pants. Suggestion: Relax the fit a bit and use a fabric that can withstand the dryer.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
These get a mixed review. The fabric is wicking and quick dry as advertised.
The cut is more of a dress pant cut with a longer rise. DH would prefer a shorter rise more like a jean cut.
BUT THEY SHRINK!! I bought a pair of these for my husband to try on to wear and take on a rush trip to Israel. I bought 36 waist 34 length - larger waist than his normal jean and Docker size (based on reviews here) and his usual inseam. The pants fit in the waist, but were about 2" too long. Nowhere on the tag or the web does it say that these pants shrink.
I exchanged the too long Adventure pants for 2 pairs 36 waist 32 length Adventure pants. Length was good when DH tried them on w/ all his pocket stuff. I washed the pants and hung them dry -- they are now both 1" too short. I was so not expecting the nylon fabric to shrink.
They do have a bit of a hem... when he gets back from his trip I'll unstitch the 2 rows of machine stitching on the hem and do a narrow hem like a pair of jeans have - that should give them almost enough length not to be high water pants anymore.

This is a review of the Mountain Ash 32" inseam Adventure Pants.
I bought 4 pairs of the Mountain Ash 32" inseam Adventure Pants about 22 months ago in July of 2008. I work in Afghanistan and spend quite a bit of time outdoors. At the time REI didn't sell a 30" inseam so I purchased the 32" and had them tailored down to a 30".
I wear them every day and I'm still wearing the same 4 pairs. Which means I have spent about 5 months in each pair. I see no signs of wear and they don't shrink or fade.
They're very stylish, breathe well, rugged, dry quickly and don't wrinkle easily. I have been doused with water and within a few minutes they're close to being dry.
They have a little hidden convenient zip pocket on each side of the leg about half way down the thigh that'll hold an ID, thumb drive, cell phone, knife or even a handgun magazine.
I was surprised of how well they fit. I have absolutely no qualms with the Pants. I recommend them to anyone. I only ask that they release additional colors.
If you're on the fence about buying these, all I can say is go for it. You won't regret it.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I was concerned about the waist. They come in 32 or 34. I'm about 32 1/2 or 33. The sales rep at the Portland store suggested wearing them around before washing them, until they stretched to the right size. That worked.
I'm 5'11" and 152 lbs. I found the fit to stay correct in the waist, but also found them to be kind of baggy over all.
They are breatheable enough to wear comfortably in the sun on a hot day. I wore them every day for three weeks last summer. No problems with the plastic zipper, or anything else. I recommend them for casual day to day.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
Thanks for updating the colors - but you used to carry more than two at a time. Please bring back the zippered right hip pocket next time this model is "updated". In my mind the this model was not broken and did not need fixing. The pants are still great and I highly recommend them. p.s. 1st day had stuff falling out of my pocket while seated - that never happened with this model's previous incarnation.

This is actually a good pant, but feels tighter in waist than other mfrs' pants.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I travel quite a bit internationally where laundry support is limited or time consuming and where weight-durability is important. These are the pants for me. I must now have five pair. Very durable, and they let me go for a long time with just one pair of pants (I use the black for trips that may include both a lot of service but a need to put on a shirt and tie for a given meeting). Good storage for Passports and travel documents. Only slight con is the material can begin to wear a bit after awhile and "ball" up on the surface.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
Seriously, it is important for active trousers (or trousers for active people)to have an adequate number of belt loops so that a knife or leatherman or whatever you wear on your belt doesn't pull everything out of alignment, cause chafing or if you unbuckle your belt the wieght of your gear pulls the bitter end of your belt out and everything falls to the ground?

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I bought these for a trip to Italy in July. I wanted a pair of long pants to wear when touring to look a little less, well, "touristy". Long pants in Italy in July can be a challenge, esp for someone like me who doesn't tolerate the heat very well.
I was originally planning on spending a lot more money for something more upscale. I had seen the REI pants in the catalog, but they look a lot nicer in the store. I read some of the negative review comments, but the price was excellent considering the other products I was considering.
They worked out great! The pants were comfortable, lightweight, stylish, and reasonably comfortable, even walking the hills of Rome in 90 degree heat. No problems with fit or wrinkles. The side pockets were a great place to store credit cards and extra Euros with some safety. I ended up wearing the same pair of pants just about every day of the trip--they were easy to wash in the hotel bathroom. Next to my Keens, it was by far the best clothing purchase I made for my trip.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I wore these for 4 days straight on a trip to the Northeast in May. Very comfortable on the plane; they didn't wrinkle or bind. Very breathable on long walks in warm (80 deg) humid weather and warm enough down to the low 50's. They even provide some wind protection. They fit about the same as my Marmot Scree pants. Now to the down side. After washing, the inseam shrunk from 32" to 31" on the first washing. Since I usually wear 31" pants, I was praying that they would not shrink any more with subsequent washings. The length remained the same after the second washing, so I will keep them and hope the shrinkage was a one-time occurrence; Were it not for the shrinkage, they would deserve a 5 star rating.
