The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
Two things make this chair worth considering: folded size and comfort/stability. Provides good support and great ventilation. Dries quickly due to the mesh fabric. It folds down smaller than almost any other chair. It is too heavy for backpacking or taking in a long ways from the car, but that is the only "con" in an otherwise well designed product. Tried one out on a weekend party, and now we are going back to buy a second one so we don't have to fight over who gets the comfortable chair. Forget those sling chairs, unless you like seeing your chiropractor more often. This one will keep you comfortable all day long.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I guess folks either love or hate this item. I love it. I have three and plan to get a fourth. They are virtually unbreakable and pack down to a very compact size. We use them at the kids soccer games and car camping which we do a lot of. We find them very comfortable. I consider the quality of the materials and and workmanship to be top notch. The only negative is the weight but that goes with being small and compact but very stout. I don't expect these to every break.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I bought the chairs to put in our Jeep. My husband had back surgery and at times can not stand around. He set one up in our living room while our furniture was moved out for carpet cleaning. He sat in the chair for almost 3 hours and said it was comfortable. Glad I purchased them.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
If you need a stable and sturdy chair this is the one. With a broken leg and non-weight bearing, I thought all my outdoor time was over for the summer. But the stable configuration and sturdy metal arms make this chair safe and easy to get in and out of and it's comfortable for hours of sitting and with a broken leg, sitting is about all I'm doing these days. With the convenient handle, I can carry it from house to patio, but I went out and bought another one so I don't have to! And I love the mesh seat for shedding rain; the seat was dry as soon as the sun came out again. This is a great chair for anyone but particularly for those who might have trouble using other chair styles.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
A reformed minimalist I now roll heavy in a solo canoe. It took 2 sales people and me to figure it out the 1st time but now I find the design genius. Had the GCI 3 legged high stool which was VERY uncomfortable so swapped it for this after trying all less expensive chairs, none compete for comfort. Mesh dries in seconds. It lays flat on the bottom of the canoe with gear bags on top. Convenient pockets. Did I mention its COMFORTABLE!

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I was a tad askance at the price as I stood at the REI counter...an outdoor chair for half a C note?! kept running through my head.
Hands down favourite of ALL at our campsite this season. I didn't feel like I was sinking into the ground in this chair as is often the case in those much less expensive no name sack chairs. Walked approximately 1 mile to and from the beach with it and and didn't feel it was too heavy. You have to "think" a bit to fold it up (I'm keeping the instructions in the utility pocket) and open it but this is a minor deterrent. In fact, it would be a great idea if the manufacturer sewed the "how to" into a seam much like several tent makers.
I'll be buying the man one of his own for Christmas to end all discussions of who owns this chair;).

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
This chair is very solidly built. I don't expect to ever need to use the manufacturer's lifetime warranty.
However, it's extremely heavy. The description puts it at 9 pounds but it feels much heavier. For a moment I even considered drilling some lightening holes in the chair's frame.
It's fairly compact and should fit on an adventure-touring motorcycle.
The tubular arm rests don't have any cushions and are not very comfortable.
I wouldn't recommend this chair to a friend mainly because of its weight.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
This chair was pretty uncomfortable. Your butt has to hand off the back of the seat to be able to actually lean against the back rest. I'm 6'4" and my wife is 5'9" (both lean by American standards) but neither of us could get comfortable in these. They are going back to the store. We had the Pico chairs, which seemed better, but those started flaking paint within a few months of use and were returned. So far, we're not impressed with GCI.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
Very, very heavy, (about 4 times heavier than most chairs this size) a pain to fold, Bulky for it's size!!! The back leans so far back that you'll fall over backwards if you lean back on it. The cup holder only works if your drink is half empty. This company makes great chairs but unfortunately this ain't one of 'em. Overall I'd say this expensive chair is worse than your average drugstore chair. Don't waste your money on this one. [...]

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I love the construction of this product. The legs of the chair will not sink into the ground when it is wet. I would like to know if this chair will be available in a version that will hold up to 350 lbs. instead of just the 250 lbs. I love the compactness of the chair for storage in the back of the car.
