I rarely give 5 stars but in this case I have no choice. Camp towels have come a long way. I tossed my felt-like old camp towels away as soon as I used this product.

Although the size may be a bit small for full body use, I usually don't walk around too much with a towel while camping. I wanted a quick drying packable towel while on our recent camping trip in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The towel was always dry the next day, even after it rained. I look forward to taking it with me to Hawaii.

Ladies, if you have long hair this towel is great for wrapping your head. It's so light and soft you don't even know it's there. I'm going to buy one just for my head for use at home.

Love it and would recommend it with not reservations!!!

I made the mistake of not washing well before use, not only that i decided to wear my favorite white t-shirt the collar is pretty orange now. this towel bleeds way too much. you MUST wash it a few times(i recommend by hand so you dont stain any other clothing) other than that. it dried me up really well. the material is like an artificial suede thats pretty heavy duty and very soft. kind of feels weird compared to a regular towel but it does the job and does it well. besides the bleeding.

As a person that always researches the product before buying it to sensure a good deal this towel has got to be one of the best i have tried. it dries very quickly and has enough absorbency to dry atleast 10 people. and its very lightweight and relatively small. i am going to use this product for years to come. Great buy!

I bought this towel as a compact towel I could put in my carry on. And it is compact. It comes in a mesh bag that measures 8 x 6 x 1 in. You read that right. I ran a couple of tests on it after I received it. Soaking wet, it dries completely in about 6 hours under dry humidity. After a shower it dries completely in about 2 hours.

The one drawback is that it bleeds very badly, so you will need to wash it a couple of times. I don't know why it isn't available in white.

One of the uses you can make of this while traveling is drying your laundry after you wash it out in the hotel sink. Wring it out wrap it in the towel and then wring again. The laundry is completely dry about an hour or two after the towel depending on its fabric.

I was gifted the large REI multi-towel 2 years ago along with a smaller REI absorbent towel. The smaller one seemed to be designed for kitchen duty or drying hair, as it is about 18"x8" and has a waffle-like texture. Currently, I sit on the larger towel on the beach and use the small one to dry my entire body (including hair) after I rinse off.
The large multi-towel is the opposite of "super-absorbent" as water tends to bead up and roll off of it. I must apply a sort of pinching pressure to get it to absorb any water from my skin.
One good thing is that sand doesn't cling to it, and it is easy to shake off. However, the odd texture drags over skin and feels uncomfortable to dry with. Also, I use the nice mesh bag it came in to hold my laundry while traveling.
I would recommend the smaller, WAFFLE TEXTURED towel, however, it doesn't look like REI makes it anymore.
Unfortunately, this towel is just not that good.

I don't usually review things online. Especially towels. But this towel is so good, I just had to.

I brought this towel and a hair dryer along on a trip where the hotel I was staying at was dubious at best. Well, I never even pulled out the hair dryer because after towel drying my hair with this, my hair was completely dry in under an hour.

Hung it up every morning dripping wet inside a closet, and it dried completely by the time I got back to my room. It's very soft to the touch and packs small enough to do double duty as a lap blanket on airplanes.

I bought a couple of these towels preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan mainly to safe space. I have been more than impressed with the amount of space it safes me, how quick it dry's, and the amount of water it absorbs. Many other Soldiers have started purchasing similar products lately for the same reasons.

I love this. I use it for bike commuting for on-the-fly showers. It packs small, light, and is surprisingly absorbent. These things have come a long way since the originals!!!! Don't hesitate to buy. I don't know if I would use it for backpacking, I might go for one of the smaller and thinner ones just because I don't mind.

I love this towel because it is so much more convenient for travel than a regular towel. One that my friend has caught my eye, and I had to give it a try for myself. As great as promised! I'd dread having to pack a regular towel again.
