Comments about Sea To Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
Got this bucket to let water sediment settle before filtering. Worked great plus we hauled two gallons of water to camp easily, then dipped cooking water right out of the bucket instead of filtering it from the creek first. This also saved the always tedious shoreline balancing act that is streamside water filtering. The words "free standing" are a bit optimistic and I wish it had a cover. Love it.

Comments about Sea To Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
My friend and I were backpacking the AT and he had this bucket with him. Many times on the AT, water is not very close to the shelters. I had to use my water bottles to carry the water to the shelter to use for drinking and cooking and then go back and refill them for the next day of hiking. He would just fill the bucket and have all the water he needed. As soon as I got back from the trip I went and bought one. It is very light and packs into the size of the palm of your hand.

Comments about Sea To Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
I made fun of my brother for bringing a collapsing bucket on a backpacking trip and then found that I used it more than anyone else, so I had to go out and buy my own. I love having a ready supply of water at camp to wash my hands and face and quickly rinse off dishes, and it's great to use the water to douse any remaining hot coals in a smoldering fire.

A string of some sort will help make this bag even more useful. Pay attention to how it folds up and practice, practice practice because it doesn't go back in its case easily.

Comments about Sea To Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
I purchased this bomb-proof bucket just this last backpacking season. Took it on several two day and multi-day backpacking trips (including the Glacier National Park section of the CDT) and it worked great; easy to fill out of a lake or stream, holds large volumes of water, and best of all, not only are the handles long enough to hang the bucket from a tree branch but because of the wide base design, it can also stand on its own when filled! This last feature is a real plus when using a water filtration pump. Finally, because of its size, it also functions well as a container to do your laundry while out in the bc. No backpacker should be without this handy little piece of soft equipment!

Comments about Sea To Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
A long weekend on the AT with water trickling out of springs required a way to collect water to be filtered, as well as catching water from plastic tubes located in some of the springs at the shelters. Allows you to sit at a more convenient spot to finish filtering instead of bending over at the stream.
Folds nicely into my MSR MiniWorks filter bag, the 10L was the perfect size. Use of bag helped reduce silt collected directly form stream. Just be careful to hold the bag while you filter so it won't fall over; that is not a big deal.
Treat it well and it should last, I carry full loads of water with my hand under the base while using the handles. The material seems quite rugged and is worth the nominal weight.
