Durable nylon uppers with ripstop-lined Cordura® nylon lowers stand up to hard use; uppers and lowers are water resistant
15 in. length provides excellent coverage when tromping through snow and blasting through brush
Rip-and-stick front closures allow quick, easy on/off without fumbling with zippers
Changing the amount of overlap on the front closures adjusts the bottom circumference to fit gaiters over different boot styles
Adjust and set snugness with rip-and-stick tabs at the tops of the gaiters
Laminated nylon instep straps and stay-put lace hooks complete a secure fit around your boots

Everything about this gaiter was great except it was too short. Advertised as a full length gaiter, but it came up to mid-calf and slipped down within minutes of hiking. I will be returning this item.

Snow shoes, trekking poles and gaiters! means you go as far as you really can... no stopping because you're wet and cold and going numb. Massachusetts this year is a winter wonderland. As much snow as you could want.
Also had REI deliver a pair to my friend in New Hampshire. She has to walk through deep snow to get to her goats in their "shed", to the chicken coup and alpacas, and to the horses' pastures. No more coming inside halfway through "chores" to get into dry socks and pants.
Come spring and summer they are priceless when "bushwacking". No other way to go through brambles and thorns. And they'll keep you dry when low growing foliage is wet and sticky.

I think they are great gaiters, only used them once last week in the mountains. But, I am a 5f 6' person, weigh about 127 lb, so not a big person. And still I could not fit the M/L size over my summer hiking boots. For sure I can not fit them over my cross-country ski boots, so I think REI should consider making a real L or XL size to fit all sizes.

Wore these daily on a 7 day West Coast Trail hike and they were excellent. Fit great and once they were on, I didnt even notice them. The front hook gets rusty if it stays wet/muddy for days at a time. Gaiters kept me mud free and dry on a muddy and wet conditions. I am 5'3'' and they came up maybe 2 inches below the knee. They worked great!

Just to help out with sizing...I have 16.5" calf muscles from martial arts, the larger size wouldnt close on me. Otherwise these look really nice and feel durable. I was bummed they didnt fit but probably would be great for some one with a normal size calf muscle. I also bought the shorter trail running rei gaiters with the same sizing problem but they were nice too, lightweight and perfect for muddy runs.

These are very nice quality and easy to put on. I love the velcro up the front...quick entry/exit. These are tall (to my knees) and fit well. They actually look great too. They do attract fuzz and hair but hey, I have pets.
