Really useful tool and great for my pack
This tube is so much better than what lotion or sunscreen comes in. The slightly transparent color means I can see the contents. The varied color of tubes allows me a color for sunscreen, lotion, sanitizer and more. I love how pliable the tubes are. I no longer waste a drop. Plus, I can buy bulk large bottles and put a portion into tubes for my car, backpack, etc. I highly recommend these great little tubes.
Best I have ever used
As an airline pilot, I have been constantly looking for better ways to carry small amounts of lotion, sunscreen, shaving gel, etc. This is by far the best I have used. They are very easy to use, clean, and fill. They are also very sturdy. I hope they come up with one that is even smaller for less frequently used products. Apart from that, the only negative I see is the cost. It would be nice if the small size was also sold in a three pack to reduce the price. Great product!
These bottles are great!
I was looking for liquid containers that are smaller than the 3 oz. TSA limit. Many of our plane trips are short enough to use carry-on luggage only - I didn't need 3 ounces of any liquid to get me through a few days or long weekend, and the partially-filled 3 oz. containers took up valuable space in my zip-top bag. This 1.25 ounce size is perfect for trips up to a week in length. I filled the bottles completely and had enough shampoo, conditioner, etc., to last me a week. The seals are great - I didn't have any leakage issues, including my styling gel. I was able to get 5 GoToobs, travel toothpaste, small hand lotion tube, and several other travel liquid containers into my quart-size bag - brilliant! Since the tubes are made of silicone, they're sticky on the outside, so getting them into the zip-top bag takes a little maneuvering, but it's certainly not impossible to accomplish. The opening is wide enough to easily fill the tubes. I haven't rinsed or washed them yet, however, I believe that won't be a problem. The content labels are great, too. However, they can be a bit hard to read when you don't have your glasses on in the shower :) . That's why I purchased five different colors - so I could determine the contents by the color of the tube in addition to the label on the collar. For those who have commented that the hinges or covers should be made more sturdy - that may be the case, but the GoToob has a lifetime warranty and humangear stands behind their products. I called them to investigate whether I could purchase a replacement cap for my GoToob, and they sent me two caps for free, no questions asked! Whoever invented the GoToob had a great idea! They cost more than cheap travel bottles, but they're worth it, in my opinion. I doubt I'll have to purchase travel liquid containers for a very long time.
Not for the Clumsy
I really liked these little toobs. My 13 yr. old daughter kept them in her bag for use after swim team practice. She dropped the conditioner toob and the cap shattered, rendering it useless. After a lecture and a couple of weeks, she dropped the shampoo bottle as well and again, the cap shattered. No, they aren't slippery, she's just clumsy. BUT,they are too expensive to not withstand one drop. If they would improve the plastic cap and make it more durable, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars.
Think I got a defect
I have half a dozen of the smaller size, and have had them for two years without problems and they're great for travel and backpacking, but within two weeks the top came off in an irreparable way. I am traveling through South America with basically nothing, And this thing burst in my bag with cream in it. I'll take it back when I get home and see if it was a defect. Normally these things are perfect for gym bags, hiking, camping, travel, whatever. I am a bit disappointed because I choose REI for these minimalist trips because I can depend on them. In the middle of nowhere even the smallest inconvenience can take away from the only pleasures you have, like bathing with biodegradable soap in a high-elevation Colombian lake... snarf
Cap hinge broke...
A week in the hinge that holds the cap close broke. I saw a few more reviews where people had the same problem. For about [$], I would expect something better.
Love these little things
Solid construction and wide-mouthed top screws off to make it easy to fill. Ideal for anything that needs to be squeezed out as the rubbery body allows you to easily apply high pressure if needed (compared to a more rigid plastic body). I h ave used for travel and for soap for backpacking. Only thing I would add is it easy to squirt out too much liquid but I got used to this quickly.
Great for running gel
I make my own energy gel for running longer runs. This holds the gel perfectly, easy to store in most stow pockets on shorts and holds a good amount. Easy to clean and has been durable to this point. No leaks or spills, have been able to use without losing stride.
Way to GoToob
I feel oddly compelled to lavish praise on this little product- A big idea in a small package. I've found myself using it for most of its intended purposes, and some I don't think were intended. (I use one to carry vitamins or cold capsules around in my purse.) But I also want to add a little bit of soft criticism. I wish they had a few more colors, though the colors they have are good. I find it a little hard to read the ID words, though these days (at 65) I find it hard to read a lot of words. The suction cup doesn't last indefinitely, but it's nice at the (Bikram) yoga studio because they don't have a shelf handy. I like the fact that in buying this "safe plastic" product, I am supporting a new and environmentally conscious company. I got this as a gift, and plan to get some as stocking stuffers this Christmas.
Perfect
This is the smartest product I have seen in a long time. Flying a lot means having to cram lots of 3oz bottles into a small bag. These are small enough so that they don't fill the baggie, yet big enough to carry a week's worth of products. They stand on their lids which means you don't have to shake and balance them to get the last bit out. The large mouth is perfect for filling or washing out if you want to change products. Biggest con - forgetting them at a hotel!
