      I bought this cap specifically for running. It seems I'm always overheating, so I needed something w/ a sturdy visor but a lot of breathability. This cap offers both. It's also extremely lightweight and easy to wash.

        This is better than the previous model, as they replaced the nasty velcro on the back with a small adjustable buckle. The velcro on the previous model could destroy anything it came into contact with in the washing machine, including expensive performance clothing, and even the hat itself! The buckle is a big improvement, since the hat does need to be washed regularly, or it will get to stinking something nasty! Solution; buy two or more since they are relatively cheap. Another improvement is the small triangle of fabric on the front on each side where the cap attaches to the bill; these triangles provide improved sun protection to the upper portion of each side of your forehead. Protect yourself!

        Picked this up as a cap to use on the bike when I needed a visor. Works great for that, but it doesn't breathe nearly as well as I expected. Often end up taking the cap off just to cool down a bit. Nice to have the brim stay in place though and not flip up in the breeze.

        Love the lightweight construction though, great to take along as a travel cap. Often leave it in the car to use when I get out and walk around.

          Like the others, I bought this hat for running. On bright, sunny days, its large brim helps to shields my face and eyes from too much sun. No problem wearing this hat with my Bolles or earbuds. It has an adjustable strap in back so one size should fit most. I run alot at night and like the fact that the mesh on the side allows cool air in to ventalate my noggin. I also appreciate the reflective stripes on top and along the brim. Recently, I took this hat hiking with me up to Mt. Baldy and it helped to keep my head cool in the afternoon sun. Please note it does not offer any ear protection from the sun, so lather up with plenty o' sun screen. Top notch, well constructed hat.

            I don't run, but wanted a light-weight hat for hiking and traveling. This hat is great. As others noted, the visor is sturdy and holds the shape you want it to. The rest of the hat is soft, offers plenty of ventilation, and packs well.

            My one problem was the back adjusting strap. This hat is one size and as a petite woman, I had almost three inches of strap dangling behind me after I tightened it. A quick snip of the scissors and one minute of amature sewing took care of that easily.

                  I run early in the morning and at night. I like reflective clothing. I have nike, brooks, and other reflective hats. All are pretty good but REI is the best. It has the best reflectors, is the most comfortable and nice ventilation. I wouldn't recommend it for cold weather running, too much ventilation.

                  I like the breathability of this hat. The only problem I have and it has turned into a major annoyance is the tab for sizing doesnt have a place to put the excess so it was flapping. I had to put a piece of duct tape on it to hold it still.

                    This hat is great for running or hiking outdoors, or for just walking around on a hot day. I sweat a lot when I work out and usually don't wear hats because my head gets too hot, but this is really breathable and light. It stays nice and secure while running. I *almost* don't feel like I am wearing a hat!
                    If you're looking for a light-weight, breathable hat then I'd highly suggest buying this one!
