        I led a backpacking expedition and we purchased 2 of these spoons. We used them to serve food out of mountain house bags and you still got your hands dirty and the spoons would get stuck in the bag. However, it's a good spoon other than that. In the end it's cheap so I wouldn't expect too much from it.

          I bought this spoon because the REI location near my home was out of regular length spoons. As a scoutmaster I camp almost monthly with our scouts and used it on my next trip, only to discover that it is great for eating my freeze dried meals, because it is long enough to reach the bottom of the bag without getting my hand dirty. Bottom line simple is best and this keeps my hands clean when eating my Mountain House meals.
