      Comments about Therm-a-Rest Z-Seat:

Though this works nicely as a seat, I purchased it primarily so I can kneel on it as I get up from the ground. I'm an above knee amputee so I don't want to damage the only knee I have as I get out of my tent and this is very helpful.

As a seat it's so lightweight and it does make hard seating surfaces more comfortable. The socket of my prosthesis is rigid and goes all the way to the top of my thigh, making it quickly uncomfortable to sit on any hard surface. This allows me to sit on a bench, stadium seat, etc. for at least an hour before I start to feel any degree of discomfort and need to shift my weight.

To help best preserve its shape I put it back in the product sleeve when not in use.

        Comments about Therm-a-Rest Z-Seat:

An avid backpacker & mountain climber tipped me off to the Z-seat & I love it. I bought & used one on my first week long trek. I attach it to the back of my bag with a velcro strap for easy access, because i use it on every break. The z-seat is small (only 2 oz.), durable, and makes even the most jagged rock, comfortable. I lost my seat after taking it to ball-games for hard bleachers & immediately bought another for my next big hike & today, bought my third for my daughter. Next to my trekking poles, the z-seat is my favorite piece of equipment.

          Comments about Therm-a-Rest Z-Seat:

Got a couple of these to use on metal bleachers at H.S. sporting events. Worked great. Then took them hiking to avoid sitting on cold and/or rough/wet surfaces. Again worked great. Unfortunately I didn't tie it down well enough and lost it from my backpack above treeline in 30 MPH winds on a winter hike/snowshoe trip so now getting replacements.

          Comments about Therm-a-Rest Z-Seat:

Five bucks. That's what this is worth. If there were a higher demand for these they would not beable to charge three times that for it.The goodIts comfortableIts easyIts warmIts durableIt worksThe badThis darn thing packs to the size of a decent sized salami. Its BIG. Its light so the weight is negligable but its so bulky that your not likely to use it. Its too bukly when you don't want to carry allot and to small if you are willing to carry allot. Going to wander around renfair you'll leave it behind. Going to watch fireworks in the park you'll bring your fullsized camp chair that you paid just as much for. I had one in my big backpacking bag and I used it and liked it, but when I replaced it for an inflatable sit pad that took up half the space for only five bucks more my whole bag got reorganized. And I only paid five bucks for my z seat out of the bargin bin. Wich brings us to the price. I think [$] is way to much for this thing period.Yes an inflatable sit pad could break and leak but it can be repaired and more importantly a sit pad is already a luxury item. The z seat would deffinately be a super durable work horse of a sit pad but do you really need a work horse of a sit pad? Maybe for your ice fishing shack or something but I'm wondering if those guys already have their own solutions to cold seats.Go for the inflatable sit pad

          Comments about Therm-a-Rest Z-Seat:

I had a conference with many meetings outside on bleachers or cheap chairs. This was very easy to pack and take in my bag, but was not as comfortable or thick as I wished. But it was better than nothing.
