Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

I love these shoes!, I have worn them every where. Up trad multi pitch and sport, to the crag, running around town, riding my bike, trudging in the snow, there great. After a year of wearing them every where I finally got them resoled and it was quick, easy and cheap to do. just buy the fiveten resole kit and you got your self a new pair of shoes.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

Spent 10 days in Jordan in these--4 days at Wadi Rum. Outstanding traction and plenty of comfort for the walks between the scrambling and technical climbing pitches. Just wear them for several days before heading out. They take a bit of sweat equity before they form to your feet. Then they're darn near real climbing shoes that you can actually walk in. Great product...

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

The FiveTen Guides are one of the most versatile shoes out there. Made for approaches and scrambles, but can handle snowy/muddy/slick conditions quite well. Great for the rugged and wild terrain that we have here in Wyoming. I have used these shoes on long approaches and even for doing some warm-up pitches. They have been through a lot and are still holding strong.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

This shoe is amazing, I wish Five Ten would make this shoe in a mid boot. Zero arch support, but with super feet insoles they come together great. These shoes stick to everything outdoors- rock, mud, grass and trails. I've done vertical rock traveres, V3 invert boludering, steep decents down huge rock with a pack, even when they are totally drenching wet. The toe box is great for wide feet like mine.

This shoe is as good as it gets in the approach shoe category. I have used it on countless free solos of the second flatiron. This shoe is able to edge and smear as good as a climbing shoe but with the comfort of a tennis shoe.

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

Let's be clear: I am *not* a climber. I sit in my car at the bottom of the cliff before my hikes and watch in awe...maybe even a little fear.

I saw these shoes on display and loved how they looked. I own a lot of casual shoes and compared these to the latest Merrell Sight and Path models simply for comfort and fit. I appreciate the number of eyelets (I always buy red laces at REI for my new shoes and the 48"s were not long enough) as getting my shoes to fit tight, but not too tight, is always an issue for me.

These shoes are super light but they have a sturdy last for the weight. Maybe they allow for better tactile assessment of an unseen purchase of rock than a court shoe might, but I don't feel like a stray rock would bruise the bottom of my foot if I were to run with them.

I've been wearing them every day for three weeks and I'm almost ready to put the rest of the casuals in the basement closet. These will get used and used until the Asolo TPS 520 GVs come out in October. The available re-sole and sole paint kits mean these will likely last as long as the Asolos too.

Perhaps it's the red laces, but people notice my shoes everywhere I go. Now I'm thinking I could use a pair of Desert Enforcer High Tops for when I need casual ankle support...

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

I had a pair of these bad boys back in the mid 90's and wore the hell out of them. Intended on resoling them but never did, misplaced them and went the next 15 years without them because I never could find them again. I think they were discontinued for a number for a number of years!? Back in the 90's they ran a size small but not this model. This model is different in several ways but is still true to that original cadillac warmup pitch cruiser shoe. I just recieved mine in the mail [...] These shoes are great and I now remember why I loved these shoes so much!! Bring back fond memories of hiking up looking glass scree and cruising the sundial in them or Pleasant O at Seneca with a headlamp at night while sporting the guides.

I wear the same size on my Lowa Hiking boot and Lowa trail shoe. Width is generous for a normal to wide foot and the laces provide enough eyes to customize the fit. Perfect right out of the box, looking forward to all the times to come in them

Comments about Five Ten Guide Tennie Shoes - Men's:

These shoes are great. They are lightweight, comfortable and the rubber is sticky. I always feel comfortable and confident in jumping from one rock to the next on approaches to the cliff, even if they are wet. They don't provide much ankle support, however you won't be slipping in these, so you don't have to worry about spraining your ankle. Overall they are a great hiking/approach for all kinds of mixed terrain. You won't be disappointed.
