Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
My family has had the old North Face Tadpole for about 20 years and it has not had a problem yet, we have used it on the beach, in the desert and in the mountains, this is just a little bigger for bigger people and the vestibule is absolutely gigantic. For the size, price, weight, and what i know is an awesome design, along with the huge vestibule i couldn't find anything better.

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
This is a fantastic tent. The vestibule is great for storing your pack, or the dogs...it only takes a few minutes to set up with the color coded poles. It's very roomy I'm 6 foot 220 pounds and I fit easy in there, and could easily sleep another of me in it. The tent only weighs 6 pounds max and although the extreme UL minimalist will bark, i rather carry an extra couple pounds and have a castle. The rain fly works great, the tent is very airy during the summer, and I've not had any problems with this tent. Thanks REI!!!

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
The first time we took out our new Big Fat Frog, it was great. We'd only set it up once, but it went up in an oncoming thunderstorm - in the dark - very quickly and securely. Once up, it held all of our gear (2 full backpacks plus a puppy and his pack) in the vestibule, leaving plenty of room for sleeping. When the storm rolled over, we had enough space for playing games and cooking. When it started hailing and blowing 30+ mph the tent held strong and didn't cave as other tents I've seen.
No damage, no caving, no condensation - this is the best tent I've ever used.

[...] Now I'm a bigger guy 6'2" and this tent is a great size for just me and my gear, if I wanted a second to join it could be done but just for sleeping tho. This tent is everything I've been looking for its PERFECT in so many ways from the size to the weight. Setup was fast and easy but the tear down was even faster :o) I couldnt be anymore excited to set out and set up for a weekend trip and the vestibule is HUGE which sold me!! Think I'm going to love my "BIG FAT FROG" for many of years. Go NorthFace...

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
First things first - this tent weighs in at a little over 6lbs so it is no featherweight - but, if you are OK with the extra weight then you can have yourself a castle in the woods.
I purchased this tent mainly for use on overnight cycling trips so the extra weight is not a huge deal since it isn't going on my back.
The construction of the tent seems quite solid, it is also very easy to pitch and take down. The fly covers the entire canopy very well and keeps water out while still providing for good ventilation.
The vestibule is HUGE! I can easily fit all my bike panniers and stuff in the vestibule. It is also great to have such a large space for cooking if it is raining.
I mainly use this tent solo, but have used it with my fiance as well and two people can comfortable sleep in it (we use Thermarest Trail Lite pads).
I might not recommend this tent for backpacking because of the weight - but if you are comfort driven and can deal with the extra pound or so then this is a great castle to bring into the woods with you!

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
Love this tent, have used it several times since buying it earlier this summer. Even during all-night, heavy downpours the inside of the tent stayed completely dry, and we had that nice vestibule to keep our muddy shoes, packs, etc. Was so easy to set up as well. The only downsides include the ventilation -- even when camping in Maine, where the nights went down into the 50s, it would stay really hot in the tent -- I suppose that's great when its cold outside, but a bit uncomfortable during the summer here in the midatlantic. Also, its not quite small or light enough for serious backpacking, but people who do exclusively car camping might want something a little roomier. So, it doesn't really fit well into either category. But it works for people like me who do a little of both.

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
I love this tent! Set up is a snap and is easy to do with one person. I love the large vestibule, the very large tent door (easy to get in and out), and the inside has 5 side pockets. When selecting a tent one of my must have features is a rainfly that goes all the way to the ground, and this fly does just that. I have not gotten rained on yet, but I did camp with it in a canyon and 40mph winds. Staked down this tent did not move an inch! One down side for some people may be that it is a little on the heavy side. For me the little extra weight is totally worth this great tent and all of its qualities. I love it!

Comments about The North Face Big Fat Frog 24 Tent:
I did lots of research to find a good two person tent that would fit my needs. This is the best tent I could find. Very easy to set up. It was VERY humid up in Minnesota where I was using the tent (the reason for the condensation inside, wasn't bad though). It fit both myself and my girlfriend very comfortably side by side. I am very happy with the tent!!!

Worked well in a 4" snow! No leaks during use in a heavy rain.
