Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket! It was bought as a rain jacket but I actually haven't had much rain to test that out. It is not a warm so I usually wear a fleece underneath- but this isn't a big concern because it transitions to a nice spring jacket so I can use it year round. It blocks the wind excellently!
I am a very petite girl. 4'9", so naturally this XS is a little bit big on ME, but I feel like it is a great fit. I have lots of room to move without feeling like I'm wearing something too big.
Overall, I am very happy with this jacket!

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I commute by bicycle year round in Minnesota, and this jacket has been perfect as an outer layer all winter long. I've been surprised at how few times I've needed anything more than a lightweight sweater underneath it to stay warm enough. It's great for spring and fall days too, as it can pack up really small if you don't need to wear it. The slim fit is comfy on a bike, and the little bit of extra length in the arms and torso are awesome. I'm really glad that I could find a jacket that works well for cycling and doesn't have spandex nerd written all over it.
As others have said, the fit seems to run a little small. I usually need an extra small, but went with the small this time. It's just a bit bulky on it's own, but I wouldn't have been able to fit layers comfortably underneath if I had gotten the XS.

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I tried on several jackets on my last trip to REI and ended up happily taking this one home even though it was more expensive because it was SO much more flattering than anything else in stock. The cut and craftsmanship give me a lot of confidence that I'll be able to use this for many years.
I am 5'6" and 140 lbs with a small chest (34A/B) and have found that my size, Medium, fits great with and without layers. You might want to consider how thick your layers will be and where you carry weight before ordering a size up. The sleeves are too long for work and will get wet if I don't roll them up, but they stay in place and don't seem to bother me at all.
I harvested squash last week and this jacket worked great in the 25+ wind gusts - the hood is especially useful as it is large enough to go over a knit hat and can then be tightened around my face. It offers no warmth, so I would mostly recommend it for Spring and Fall and early or late Summer as it breathes well and is pretty light.

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
Slim fit and fairly thin - order a size up if you want to layer. I'm 5' 6", 145 lb. with a bigger chest (36D) and I opted for the large so I can wear a fleece underneath. We went camping in Big Sur and it was cold, wet, and foggy the whole time. I fell in love with this jacket - it was so versatile. I layered a fleece underneath during the mornings and evenings and wore it by itself during the day. Functional and cute. I received 3 compliments while walking the dog our first morning there! I bought the teal color and it's a pretty jewel tone (darker than how it's displaying on my computer screen...could just be my computer though).

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I got this jacket in black and have been very happy with it. It's cute and fits me well (I'm tall and thin with long arms, and got a small).
I don't think this jacket is appropriate for much more than casual use. It's water resistant, but not waterproof (it soaked through in spots after getting caught in a short rainstorm). It's not very thick, so think spring or fall temperatures. It is perfect, however, for walking around the city on a cloudy and cool day.

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I'm tall and thin. I usually wear a XS or S, but I got a medium as this coat runs small. The fit is perfect for anyone who is long and lean. Sleeves are super long, and it's long in the torso too. Hood is excellently roomy (usually hoods are too tight on my head).
Also, you can wear it casual but it's elegantly cut enough to wear when you need to look nicer, too.

I am tall...and this is a great fit!
Great sleeve length (yeah!)
Great body length (yeah!)
Other brands (North Face) are just too short all around!
Warm and windproof... cool and stylish!
This is good outdoors and can be "dressed up" a bit when you need to!

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
This soft shell was lighter than I expected, but it is still very nice (and very packable)! I love the styling of this jacket, it definitely has that hoodie feel to it complete with a big roomy hood and extra long drawstrings. The length is cut a little bit longer than most other soft shells out there, which offers a bit more protection in rainy weather.
I would not recommend this jacket for extremely cold temperatures, but on top of a few layers I think this jacket would be just fine for mild and rainy winters here in the Pacific Northwest. As a single layer it would probably be best suited for Spring and Fall weather.
That being said, I'd say this jacket runs a bit small. I'm usually a size medium but I ended up getting a large. The medium had a snug fit which looked alright on its own, but I would not have been able to comfortably wear any extra layers underneath. I would advise ordering a size up if you want to wear this jacket as an outer layer.
Overall I'm very pleased with this jacket, and I'm happy with my purchase!

Comments about Marmot Summerset Hoodie Jacket - Women's:
I bought this jacket for a trip to Europe and I didn't want to have to also pack an umbrella. It worked great on it's own since it's hooded and was very comfortable and added a layer of warmth without being bulky.
