Like almost everything about them, esp the petite size! However, the elastic cord at the bottom of each pant leg broke the first time I wore them..... this is a design flaw and should be corrected.

I work in a place that recommends casual dress, which these aren't but they can pass with the right tops. I've had a few other REI cargo pants that slipped by but these are the closest to casual dress that have a generous supply of pockets (7 of them) I've ever found. Please don't drop this design! I liked the others too but non of them are made anymore, sigh.

I bought these for a month long trip this summer. They quickly became my "go-to" pants for nearly everything. I am slim, but have muscular thighs and buttocks from cycling and have a hard time finding good fitting pants. These fit my hips very well without looking baggy and the drawstring at the waist cinches them in perfectly! For me they fit best wearing them just below my natural waist. The length on these is just right. During my trip I wore them on long day hikes and out to dinner at casual restuarants. They always looked nice. They wash easily and dry quickly.

I bought these pants for a trip to Australia, and they stood up to many hours on the planes, walking in cities and light hiking (I wore others for the heavy-duty hiking). They look good enough to be the "nice" pants on a trip. I thought the waistband would be a little higher than it was, and that was a little uncomfortable while sitting. I do like the length; most pants for petites are too short, even though I am 5'2".

I'm only 5'2' and it is so hard to find a decent fitting pair of hiking pants but these simply are it for me. Their flattering and the zip off leg hits at the right point on the calf. Beleive me after a frustrating afternoon trying on ALL of the hiking pants availiable, after seeing these I was in heaven! I was actually going to settle on some other "brand name pair" and have them hemmed till I found these.

Wore these hiking for the first time yesterday. I really like the fabric and the pockets. The length is probably better for a taller petite - I'm 5'2" and the pants are too long. Petite inseams of 28" work best for me and I think these are 30". They do have the cord to cinch them at the bottom, just make sure to tuck it in so you don't get snagged on something! The waist is slightly lower than I'm used to but you can cinch this as well to bring it up a bit. Fit through thighs could be a little roomier for me, I like to layer with different weights of first layer and I'm not sure my midweight layers will fit under these through the thighs.

I wore these pants on the 4 day Inca trail and they were perfect. They run a little long for me (even the petite size) but I'm only 5 ft tall so I'm used to that :)and the length is adjustable with the bungee at the cuffs. I just tucked in the extra elastic loop so it wouldn't stick out after I adjusted the hem. I like that there's a lot of pockets but they don't stick out like other outdoor pants. Very comfortable and cute too!

Thanks to REI for providing petite sizes in their apparel. More please! Very flattering style without the extra bulk that makes some hiking pants not sufficiently stylish for casual wear. Nicely contoured at the waist to eliminate the gaping I often get at the waist in many pants. Numerous functional pockets. Very quick drying. Slight stretch in the fabric provides comfort. Three small complaints: At 5'3", I still found them too long. So, I tried cinching them at the ankles to adjust the length. However, when cinched, there is a huge loop of elastic hanging out. So, I had to have them hemmed one inch. Still the proportion is much better overall than the regular, non-petite size provided. The fabric started to pill slightly in high friction areas. Nice enough style that I will probably buy a second pair in the other color.
