Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
This is as absolutely lovely dress. I'm very impressed by how flattering it is! I have it in Peruvian Blue and the color is stunning--a deep, dark turquoise. I'm 5'8" and 135 pounds with a short torso and longer legs; the Small fits me perfectly. The skirt ends just at the top of my knees without any tightness across my hips or rear. Note: I have a narrow ribcage (32C) and the band under the bust is snug, but not too tight; if you are a 34 or above, the band around the middle might be a bit too tight in the Small. This dress is long/opaque enough to wear to a casual work setting, but cute enough to wear to a spring or summer party. The zipper pocket is practically invisible, which is a relief (I was worried the extra fabric might bunch up). I haven't washed it yet, but after reading the other review, I will definitely wash it cold, gentle cycle and hang dry, despite what the label says ("wash warm"). I predict that I will live in this dress once spring has sprung!

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
Flattering dress, however, after one wash, the fabric started to ball up, and now after about 5 washes, looks like the dress is about 5 years old. Far too expensive for the quality of fabric.

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
I tried on this dress in consideration for a long motorcycle tour where my packing space is extremely limited! This dress was comfy and classic, business casual in fact. I really liked the cap sleeves, neckline and length for my height (5'4").It would be very easy to pack, and easy to rinse out and hang to dry. Great price for the overall quality.

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
Dress is comfortable, stylish..great for casual, work, and can be dressed up. I just wore it to a nice dinner with long boots. My friend couldn't believe I got this great dress at the same place I buy my backpacking, hiking, camping, kayaking, and rock climbing gear! My only problem was I am on the smaller chested side (chest area of dress a little on the big side for me) & the top kept opening up, revealing my bra & chest (not in a flattering way) but, I just put a small stitch & it is much better. I purchased the blue & now want to get the port & black..the dress is so versatile. Also love the little hidden pocket!

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
The first time I wore this dress, I fell in love with it and made plans to pick it up in another color... and then I washed it. The fabric pilled after only one gentle cycle wash in cold water--which I certainly did not expect given the cost of the dress. Also, while I appreciate the fact that the dress is made of environmentally friendly materials, I own other clothing made of natural/sustainable materials, and they are of much better quality. It's really a shame too, because otherwise the dress is perfect in every way!

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
I find it frustrating that this is sold as a "touring" dress but that somehow a small strip of velcro snagged the heck out of the side of the dress. Velcro is used in a lot of travel gear!
I have worn this dress three times and consider it unwearable after one run in with a small strip of velcro on a travel bag. It snagged and pulled up a bunch of little poofs of fabric all over the side of my dress, making it look very shabby.

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
I love the way this dress fits! I am 5'6", 125-130 and the XS fits well! The Port color is great and I love the neck line. I have not had any major problems with the front gaping open (I am a 33 small A) although for work I have worn a tank top under it. It is shorter than my Bandha and Morning Glory dresses but still hits my knees.
DRAWBACK: the fabric of this dress is nice insofar as it's soft and doesn't wrinkle, however it started pilling just from being washed and dried a few times, both of which should be fine according to the tag. Now after a dozen washes I am reluctant to wear it for work or anything dressy. Also, stay away from VELCRO!
Overall: nice dress, great for packing, very comfortable and flattering but the quality of the fabric makes it not worth the price. I will only buy this again or recommend to friends if it is on sale.

I really like the fabric - looks almost cottony, not shiny like some other brands, but this dress clung to the wrong curves below the waist. Bummer - it was quite flattering above the waist.

Comments about REI Touring Knit Dress:
I bought this dress in blue & black. The cut is wonderful, but the fabric does not wear well at all. It snags easily & started showing significant wear after only one CAREFUL washing (cold wash, gentle cycle, air dry flat). The blue color is lovely, but the black isn't really true ... looked somewhat faded even when new. I would not recommend it to a friend because I believe buying low-quality clothing is generally wasted money.

Bought two of these for convenience dressing with a newborn. Liked the hidden pocket and style and ease of one piece dressing when trying to get out the door with an infant.
After first wear and wash already starting to pill. Washed in cold and gentle not warm as label says. Fabric is thin but bought dark colors so not too see thru yet (wonder after washed a few times more) Considering returning them. They could do better with fabric!!
