Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
I originally bought this pack to use just for camping, hiking, and traveling. I decided to test it out by using it for school (I am a college student) and now I don't want to go back to my other backpack I was using. The shoulder and back padding are great. I really like that the waist belt is not padded, I can tighten it pretty good if I want and it doesn't slip. The pocket on the front is perfect for organizing the little things you want to reach quickly. The side mesh pockets are nice and big, but still keep my keys in there without fear of them falling out. The best thing is that this pack doesn't overpower my short torso, yet is tall enough to stuff what you need into the main compartment. There is one thing I would change about it- more pockets. Even when I take it camping or something I would want another pocket to put stuff in that I don't want to lose in the main compartment but might not fit into the smaller front pocket. Other than that, I am perfectly happy with this pack.

Great pack. Used it for the first time on my most recent trip and I was very impressed. Very comfortable pack.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
For any outdoor adventure, this backpack is attached to me at all times. Or should I say that I'm attached to it? There's nothing super duper fancy about this pack, which I love - I like to keep it simple and as functional as possible. No crazy straps that no one really uses or decorative attachments that make it look more stupid than cool. It's also really comfortable, and the right size for a day trip, hiking, and perfect for traveling (great carry on - super easy to access your stuff). I even stuff my things in it for work and go. So much better to carry around than a purse that will only give me shoulder problems in the end. Overall, this pack is practically a security blanket for me.

If you live in the pacific northwest you may get wet. Bummer. I'm going to buy a cover to go over it, as my entire array of school books got soaked yesterday.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
I'm new to the day hike, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really liked this pack. My group hiked upwards of 7-9 miles per day, and my pack was so comfortable, I'd forget to take it off whenever we stopped. It had plenty of room for all the things I might need and some of the extra's I threw in, as well. I used the bladder and tubes from my camelbak system with the built in clips and pouch in the backpack. It really helped keep me hydrated at the high elevations in Yellowstone.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
I bought this for long day hikes, but I've started using it for work as it is really comfortable and lightweight. Plus, it was just a great deal for the quality! The straps adjust easily so it fits quite nicely and it isn't too sweaty. With the belt and upper strap, it distributes weight and rides well. To note, the seams on the shoulder straps are pointy and if not adjusted right, will rub wrong on your neck. I also put in my 2L platypus to use it as a hydration pack. It worked okay, but the inside pocket doesn't hold the bladder very snuggly and the shoulder straps don't have a really good place to hold the tube. However, it still worked for what I needed, and the great thing about this pack (especially compared to all the other hydration packs I looked at), is that the side pockets are big enough for nalgenes which is beneficial for people like me who like to carry a lot of water. The outer pocket is also great in that it has compartments and is pretty roomy.

Easy to use and with the added MSR bladder makes a good hydration pack.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
I love this pack. I am a small framed girl and this pack is perfect to load full without weighing me down. I traveled with this back for an entire week in Central America. It held everything without getting to huge. I put my climbing harness and shoes, biners, food and everything in it during the summer, attach anything to the outer clips and it always holds. I am super pleased with it.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
This day pack has gone with my wife and I on many trips and vacations. We have taken it through the Bahamas with both of our snorkel gear and as far north as nova Scotia with all of our gear for a good days hike. The pockets were great to keep the small things such as passports and Ipod and the inside was big enough to fit our flippers for snorkeling. All in all it does the job and fits comfortably.

Comments about REI Trail 25 Pack:
I replaced an old pack with this model, and for the most part, I love it. It's so much more comfortable to carry because of the well-designed and padded straps and belts. However, the one thing I dislike is that it only has one large compartment and a smaller one on the front. My last pack wasn't very comfortable, but it had a third section in between the large and small ones that I preferred putting food in, so that any potential messy accidents didn't involve my extra clothes, field guides, etc. in the large compartment. However, by packing in reusable plastic containers, I can overcome this issue. Still, I miss that third, narrower compartment. Otherwise, this is the perfect day pack.
