Comments about REI Trekker 1.75 Self-Inflating Pad - Regular:

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day backpacking trip thoughout Ireland. We both used this pad and were VERY impressed! It is the most comfortable pad I have ever used. We would let them self inflate, then blow them up a bit more and had some restful nights... They are durable, our bags don't slip on them and they dry fast (it rained a lot on our trip).
Buy this pad, you'll be satisfied and comfortable.

Comments about REI Trekker 1.75 Self-Inflating Pad - Regular:

I really didn't believe I needed a sleeping pad until one day I decided to backpack Mt. Diablo. I figured that a light weight sleeping bag would be more than enough to pad the ground, boy was I wrong. I think I got an hour or 2 of sleep that night as I tossed and turned trying to find a spot that had less rocks jabbing into me (and I was diligent on clearing a spot before putting up the tent). Let's just say that when I got home, at the top of my list was to purchase a sleeping pad for both me and my girl. As soon as this pad came on sale, it was just to good of a deal to pass up, so I bought 2 regular sized ones.

I have again backpacked Mt. Diablo and what a difference this pad made. I popped up the tent and threw in the pads to let them inflate while I ate dinner (they're a little slow to inflate, but nothing to bad). After dinner I blew in a little air to firm it up and then strapped my sleeping bag to the pad, and it worked great. This time it wasn't the hard rocks keeping me up, but the Coyote that kept tying to get to my pack.

Overall the pad performed great. I didn't feel the coolness of the ground, and I didn't feel anything poking me at all. Sure, this pad does weight a little more than the more expensive ones, and it rolled up does take up some space in my pack. But for pure comfort this thing's awesome. I'll trade a little more weight for a better nights sleep any day.

Mine has developed a leak on the seam where the two halves are glued together. So far my efforts to seal this have proved fruitless.

Comments about REI Trekker 1.75 Self-Inflating Pad - Regular:

I bought a Thermarest pad for my wife, that this one for myself. I am 6'0", 175 and a total side sleeper, and after thorough use, the wife and I traded for a night. While I do like this pad better than the thermarest, I still woke up with sore hips and shoulders. I'm fine after some coffee and moving, but still... Inflating it further, then bleeding off some pressure is better; try it.

I think the weight/ size is fine, and packs fine, I guess that is subjective though.

All in all, I think it is a good pad. It's no worse than more expensive pads. I think my gripe pertains to pads in general, not thi sparticular product. I would recommend it.

This is a comfortable pad. Easy to inflate/deflate, and roll up. Never had a leak. I have used it more than a dozen of times (only car camping, I prefer lighter pads for backpacking), and still looks like new.

Comments about REI Trekker 1.75 Self-Inflating Pad - Regular:

Bought this for a nearly two-week packing/fishing trip in the Sierra Nevada of California. Probably would have gone with the Pro-lite 4 Thermarest, but $ was a concern. Not only are they more expensive but the additional charge for each add-on (stuff sack, repair kit, etc) adds up. REI included everything in the base price. Very happy with what I received. Contrary to some reviewers, I had no trouble with the valve. Feel/comfort of the pad was great. No trouble with rollup. There may be better pads out there but for the money, this is a good deal. I am happy with the product.

Tested this out on the super cold tile floor in my kitchen. Not an ounce of chill gets through it and I forgot I was on the tile floor. Can't wait to use it this weekend and get away with my husband for a few days.
