The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
I bought this HRM because the Polar model I wanted wasn't at the store and this was significantly cheaper. When I first used it on a 5 mile bike ride, it stayed around 30 BPM which is virtually an impossible reading to have unless you are in a meditative trance. After that ride, I used it a few more times and it said my BPM was between 60 and 130, which seemed normal. Now, 3 weeks later it's back to it's old 30 BPM reading. I changed the batteries and made sure the leads were thoroughly wet. It's still giving me these false readings. Since I'm a recovering from a heart attack, it's kind of important that the thing is accurate during my workouts. I'm taking it back to REI and going for the Polar model, which is what I should have done in the first place.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
Great, for about a year. After 8 months or so, HR monitor started to fail, tried new battery, no luck. I may have figured out why, but watch strap broke after a year and I've wasted a lot of time trying to find a replacement strap - including contacting Timex directly, with no success. The strap is proprietary. This one goes to the trash - or strap it to something else.
Wouldn't buy again because I can't expect the next one won't break.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
Great ironman watch. If you have one or have used one you know what to expect. The heartrate monitor works well if you are out running or biking, away from electronic devices. If you run on a treadmill it picks up signals from the treadmill and (at least in my case) shows a constant 170 BPM rating.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
This watch is great for what it supposed to be used for, heart rate monitoring. It's very easy to set up and with the different functions it allows you to see your heart rate easily on the screen. The timer comes in handy too. This is a great all around workout watch and a great watch to wear whenever.
The one and only down side I have to note is that customer service for Timex is HORRIBLE! My running partner who is also my dog ate the strap from this watch. Unfortunately the watch design requires that the only replacement strap needs to be ordered through Timex. This has been nothing short of a headache for me. I ordered this strap in October 2011 and after numerous phone calls and hours on hold I'm still waiting for it today (1/5/12). All-in-all Great Watch; Timex customer service stinks.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
This is my first HRM so I don't have anything to compare it to. Seems to work pretty well, but with two caveats. One, when I take the HRM strap off, the HR display on the watch settles on about 30bpm (I was expecting 0). Two, it never seems to jive with the treadmills at my gym. The treadmills are hand sensors so who knows how accurate those are. But seems solid and a user replacable battery is always nice. Display is large and easy to read, but if you are a smaller guy like me (5'-6" 132lbs) the watch seems a little big on my wrist and I have to sinch the band down to the second to smallest size. I would recomend to friends with the above caveats.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Men's:
I have tried several brands of heart monitors. This is by far the best of the bunch. With other monitors I frequently had them stop reporting accurate data during the middle of a workout. This one works consistently.
