Now made with recycled materials, the Ruff Wear K-9 Overcoat protects your precious pup from adverse weather as well as brush and burrs.

  • Great for dogs with thin coats and those unaccustomed to cold, wet conditions; chest panel protects the dog's belly
  • Wind- and water-resistant recycled polyester shell protects from the elements; lined with luxuriously soft recycled fleece for warmth
  • Quick-release buckle closures adjust easily at 2 points for a personalized fit
  • Remains securely in place during vigorous activities

Girth is measured around the widest part of the rib cage. Length is measured from the base of the neck to trailing edge of coat near base of tail.

    Buy last years' Overcoat II model

    I own both the Overcoat II (which comes in blue and red, see the reioutlet.com for the blue one for [$]!!) and this green Overcoat. I will review both. I recommend last year's model over this green coat.Green coat: Floppier, thinner, less reflective than last year's model. In addition, the picture is not true to what the coat looks like. There is no black trim. The biggest (and only) improvement is a bigger neck-hole. In this coat, my lean 65 lb yellow lab is a medium. His girth is 28. I prefer the Overcoat II for non-labradors (labs have fat heads and the Overcoat II is tight on the neck/head in a size medium). Does an ok job wicking water and snow. Red Overcoat II: Thicker, nicer looking, much more reflective, stays flatter on my dog's back due to more durable and thicker material. The picture with the black trim actually represents what the product looks like - it has black trim. A huge CON (the only negative) is that the neck is narrow. This makes a medium perfect for a vizla, but bad for a dog like a lab who has a wider head. I think a large would fit a lean, fit labrador - however, the coat part will be a little big. Wicks water and snow well. The medium fits my siberian husky/lab who weights 55 lbs. I am ordering a large for my other (third dog) labrador as I do NOT want to buy another one of the green coats.Ruff wear makes nice athletic coats for dogs. I do like their products. Just be wary of the neck sizes. I highly recommend the Overcoat II and I hope they can remake an Overcoat II for 2010 model with a wider neck.

    This jacket is very well designed and seems to be made out of very strong materials, my biggest complaint, which kept me from keeping the item is the size of the neck-hole. I have a 50 lb. black lab and the size small would have been perfect, the neck was just too tight. The medium had a much larger neck-hole but the rest was just too large. I instead bought the cloud-chaser jacket in a small and it fits perfectly! If this would have fit slightly better I would have much preferred the materials this jacket is made from.

      Good quality, warm, and it has adjustable straps. My dog (65 lb mixed lab) wears the large size even though he is mostly medium in most of his gear. In this case, the large is the right size for him.
      It does not restrict movement because it has big wholes around the neck and legs. This jacket is good for the cold, not for warm days because it has fleece underneath and it gets too warm on hot days.

        This is a great dog coat. I got my bichon a coat from another outdoor company and theirs only had a strap around the neck and on around the torso. Worse was that the coat would shift on my dog and not cover his one side. This is a great fit for my dog as well. The elastic straps/clips make for a pretty custom fit. I just hope the underside of the coat will keep him a bit drier. Great stuff.

          We purchased this for our first dog who is a small breed mutt. She's very petite at 28 lbs. Some kind of hearding breed. My husband and I love this product for her in the harsh winter climates we get. She wouldn't go outside in -10 degree weather if it weren't for her "jacket". It took her a few days to get used to wearing it. The neck opening is big for her but the length is good (she has a size Small). It doesn't seem to irritate her fur/skin at all. We got a puppy a few months ago and after he finishes growing this summer we will purchase this product for him as well.

            This is a great jacket! I bought this for our 70 lb Weimreiner. At first, she didn't like it, but the longer we walked her the more she got used to it. It's easy to put on and it clips snugly around her making it like a "second skin." I'm planning to buy another coat for our 10 lb Havanese. Great investment especially if you live in a cold climate like we do.
