Tailored for a woman's frame and sensibilities, the Carema Pro has choice parts for a light and fast ride, and boasts carbon-fiber seat stays!

  • Carema Pro delivers an all-around performance ride, fast enough for triathlons, yet comfortable and stable for touring rides over mountain passes
  • Women-specific styling includes low stand-over heights and sport frame geometry that accommodates female torsos
  • Lightweight Kinesis 6061 aluminum frame and carbon fiber fork/seatstays provide stiffness for quick acceleration and energy transfer for climbs
  • EVO carbon front fork is lightweight and strong, and its lateral stiffness yields spot-on steering control
  • Carbon fiber also damps road vibrations, increasing comfort and reducing fatigue over long, hard rides

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.         I have the 2008 model. I can't tell the difference compared to this newer version. Very lightweight. Right size for me. I'm 5'1 and usually having a hard time finding the right size. I got the xsmall and fit perfect. Gears shifts smoothly. Fast on the road and super lightweight. I can even run and carry my bike at the same time. Very pleased with the price too. Can't complain at all.

          I have the 2008 version of this bicycle and I absolutely love it. I am small (5'2") and the XS frame fits me really well. I use the bike for casual rides, long endurance rides, and a little knocking around town. I would use it more for commuting but I can't stand the thought of putting a rack on the bike to carry all my junk so I am limited to what I can put on my back. I did a lot of shopping around before I bought this bike and I'm convinced that it's the best priced bike in its class. And it is, hands down, the most elegant bike of its kind. When I first bought the bike I did need to bring it back to REI for some adjusting after the cables stretched out. [...]

          Rode my Carena Pro bike across Iowa this summer - along with many other long rides - and I have yet to get a flat tire, loose chain, gear or brake issues. The bike handles extremely well and the price beat all the "name" brands out there with the same bells and whistles. I am one with this bike!
