i had heard people had problems getting to the lightbulb in this lantern so when i got mine it was one the first things i checked out. i had the same trouble so i looked for instructions, but there were none. so i contacted the manufacturer and it turns out "there are no replaceable parts in the steelbeam." you cannot replace the lightbulb in this lantern! when the bulb goes, so goes your lantern! not okay.

i've been checking around for something better, and the colemans look like they offer more: a variety of light settings so you can save on batteries, a longer warranty (5 yrs vs 3 yrs for GE) and you can replace the lightbulb.

I'm returning my steelbeam and getting a coleman.
