Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I have always enjoy the durability of nylon and nylon blends but the fabric always seems to be too light or too rough. These pants are a perfect combination, with great ability to remove moisture. I use them for all kinds of activities (including motorcycle riding around town) because they are extremely confortable and durable. I only wish more colors were available!

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I have used these pants mountaineering, snowshoing, cross country skiing. These pants have done it all. Extremely comfortable, abrasion resistant, breath well during rigerous outdoor activities. Lightweight and warm in all but the coldest conditions.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
There is no going back to cotton jeans for me. I am so hooked on these pants, I am now wearing them into the office, out in the snow, to dinner -- everywhere! I worry that friends will notice me always wearing these pants, so I have to wear other pants. (My wife doesn't mind) Otherwise, I would only wear these. I will buy another pair, once a second color is offered for sale. And they wear so durably, I think they'll last many times longer than other pants, justifying their high cost.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
These are the pants I searched for for years! I was trying to find pants that are cut like jeans (rather than sweatpants), but are non-cotton so that they didn't absorb sweat and rainwater, and are machine-washable. These fit the bill. The Acme pants are made from a medium-weight Schoeller fabric, which transports moisture very well. I have worn them most days for several months and they have performed well sitting in the office, driving, skiing (with a Gore-Tex shell over them), hiking then resting, and spelunking when I worked up a sweat. They were comfy under all conditions. I would like to see REI offer a heavier version of these pants with Schoeller fabric for cooler conditions; they already offer the lighter Mistral pant. A note on sizing: I measure my waist at 35", and my 34" pants are a little loose, so I have to wear a belt.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
These are great pants I wear a lot of the time, mainly for commuting to work on my motorcycle or scooter. Even though they're light, they are pretty windproof and don't look bad in a work environment. They wouldn't be great in a crash, but I have an Aerostich suit for that.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
This is my first winter with these pants and I am very satisfied. I use them for winter hiking and snowshoeing. They've been through both cold and not so cold days and wet and snowy days and have performed beyond expectations.
I used to have a cheaper pair of nylon rain pants and they don't compare to these for fit, stretch, breathability and comfort.
I was fortunate to buy them when on sale as I am not sure I could have justified the list price. But after wearing them i can recommend them on sale or not on sale.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
I also had a hole in the front left pocket. It was about an inch long at the seam.
Light weight and windproof, these pants don't insulate well. Nice for damp weather when it's too cool for shorts and too warm to wear rain pants. Softer inside and more comfortable than nylon pants, but not as thin as the REI Sahara pants.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
Ok, here's the deal...at [$]a pair, these things should be totally bomber. I have had them for about four months and have used them for back country skiing, mountaineering and hiking. I like the material and the lower leg fits around a ski boot, so that is a big plus. But please, a blue jean-style closure system? The little closure hole has stretched out so much (probably from my climbing harness) that the metal button thingy is useless. And they run big (I am a 34 and the waist is very loose)...I will probably have to get a pair of suspenders for them, as a belt will get in the way of climbing gear. A better closure system would be nice at this price point. I hate it when manufactures cheap out on the details. The material is bomber, though. One reviewer mentioned banging into trees and the like and that part is true...I have had minor crampon snags from my lousy French technique and the point literally bounced off the fabric, so kudos in that regard. And that's about it.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam:
Great, sturdy pants that are just a bit heavier than my other hiking pants. They provide some wind resistance to the winter cold, which is appreciated. I did have to repair a small hole in the pocket that was missed during its stitching. I consider it to be a fluke and was easily repaired. Great for a week on the trail or bumming around on the weekends.
