The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
07 Honda Accord
First, don't trust the Thule size recommendation of a 38" fairing. I measured myself and ordered the 44" which fits perfectly. The ends go right to the middle of the pedestals. I'll post a pic if I get bored.
Anyway, after a 6 hour drive back from Holiday Valley last year I was ready to beat the next Swede I saw over the head with my Rapid Aero bars. On the drive up, the bars made a low howl sound. Imagine someone blowing in a jug. Not too loud, not too annoying, but a couple extra notches up on the radio. The drive back however was in the rain. I realized that any moisture hitting the bars causes a sound identical someone rubbing a wet finger on the lip of a crystal glass but much, much LOUDER. They even do this if you use your windshield fluid. I can't fully express how much it sucked but if it is revealed later those Iraqi prisoners were forced to drive a car with rapid aero bars in the rain; the people responsible should in fact be convicted of war crimes.
So I just did my first drive in the rain with the fairing and not only do I not have the whistling, I don't even have the howling. I didn't even get light whistling I usually get from having the rubber strip removed from the top of the bars.
So if you've got the bars and the bars are annoying you try ordering the fairing before you throw your roof rack in the trash or at the nearest innocent Swede. You may want to order a different size though. I think our wacky system of measurement really throws those metric types off.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Fairing went on great to my Volvo S40, once I reversed the recommended setting of the attachment mechanism. The recommended settings clearly had the outer supports be longer than the inner ones causing the fairing to warp awkwardly when mounted (fairing wanted to be concave). I reversed the directions and had the outer attachments be shorter than the two inner ones making a slight convex shape that fit the car nicely. Not sure if that was just my car (instructions not vehicle specific), or just an inconvenient typo.
Now that it is on it works well in reducing wind noise and looks cool to boot.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
I had a Thule aftermarket roof rack installed after my husband and I bought a new car that did not have a factory rack. I liked the rugged look of the Thule rack but the whisling noise was driving me up the wall and I even considered removing the rack. The fairing eliminates the sound and looks sharp. If you are going to buy a Thule rack, the fairing is a must!!!! However, I am typically mechanically inclined, but this did take me much more than 5 minutes to install.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
The lady at the store thought it would be a good idea to buy this to reduce road noise. I ignored her thinking it would be fine. I was wrong, a loud whistling noise happened if I drove faster than 25MPH. Adding the fairing made the noise disappear. The fairing comes in an easy to assemble kit. Pay attention to the mounting bracket position, the position is different between the middle brackets and the two outer ones. (Page 4 step 7 on the 872)The only annoyance is it shows finger prints anywhere you touched it.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
I use this product with my Thule system and 2 criterion mounts. Great product once it's on but the instructions could be improved upon. The main issue I had is that they shouldn't have used plastic push fasteners for attaching the brackets to the visor. Two of mine broke when being inserted and the only reason I found replacements at the auto store was that they had a discontinued bin. Otherwise, it cuts the noise, but for the price it could have been better made instead of mostly plastic.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
This fairing looks good, but does nothing to reduce wind noise. I have the aero bars and found that the fairing did not help at all with the wind whistle. What did work was using some clear silicone caulk/sealant at the junction of the the bars and base pieces. Let's see [$] vs [$], hmmm.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Absolutely perfect. Easy construction, took me 30 minutes to build and install. The Plexiglas is elastic enough to permit a slight bend in the middle allowing a universal fit across a wide range of makes and models, and as far as the Volkswagen GTI MKV is concerned it is absolutely lovely. More importantly this device really does eliminate the howling roar of the front load bar.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Installed the 38" fairing on my Thule Traverse footpack with square load bars on my Honda Civic - made an INCREDIBLE difference. Before I had the fairing, any speed over 40 mph caused loud whirling/whistling sounds on the roof. Once I installed the fairing, I seriously could barely tell anything was even up on my roof! Well worth the price - any reviews that say this doesn't work are written by people who either did not install the fairing properly (which I could totally believe) or bought the wrong size. If you have a Thule roof rack, get the fairing.
