Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
So far I am impressed. I use this light on my road bike at dusk. The white color makes it easy to see while glancing away from the road to change modes. The Blaze 1 watt has three modes: low, high and superflash. The low mode is acceptable for slower rides, and to conserve battery life (2 AA's). The High gives you a surprisingly bright spot for a 1 watt LED. The Superflash mode (very impressive) gives you a safe, bright strobe putting out about 8-10 flashes per second. This light is designed as a safty light, but I feel pretty comfortable using as a headlight.
The few cons would be the mounting clip seems to slip a little (could be a problem off road), and the quality of the mount is questionable. The rubber push switch is a little tough to operate (a minor issue). The quality of the light itself seems to be top notch

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
I ride all year round. Need a light for being seen and to be able to see. We have some very dark patches along the bike paths that meke it hard to see at night. Used Cateye lights for years. After the last one died have been in search for new light. There is not another LED light out there that comes clost to this. It far exceeded all my expectations. It lit the whole path. I could even see the foliage on either side of path. Very bright, beam goes much further than any light I've seen yet. Awsome light.

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
I bought the Planet Bike Blaze 1-watt LED light at REI[$]. Last Saturday night I rode around Greenlake in Seattle a few times in the dark. Lots of pedestrians to watch out for. This light worked well. I was able to see the path well up to about 60 feet ahead. There are two brightness levels, although in practice, the high beam is only slightly brighter than the low beam. The flash mode is more like a strobe and is very noticeable. Visibility from the side is poor in steady mode but reasonably good in flash mode.

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
I use this light for commuting in the evenings in NYC. It creates terrific visibility. Very bright--and on flash mode it really gets people's attention. I'm not crazy about the mount, but it's held up so far. I needed to shim it to get it to fit my handlebars, and the light didn't come with shims. Not crazy about the quick release: the shims make the quick release a hassle, and as I park the bike on the street, I don't like leaving the mount in place. The power switch is a little stiff, but that's a good thing. It means that the light doesn't turn on accidentally in my panniers. Bottom line: great value for the money. Recommended.

This is a great light. I use it for daily commuting in all kinds of weather. It really seems to get the attention of cars. I think it’s one of the best, if not the best LED lights out there. The high low feature is interesting but I don’t really see the need for the low mode. Flash is great. This light is a great mate to the superflash taillight.

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
This unit is really good. The beam shape is THE best and the brightness is continual and good. The beam is not strong enough to counter oncoming headlights and I'm partial to incandescent beam color. I'll use my dual lamp Cygolight for the really dark road sections and use the Planet Bike light adapted for helmet mount most of the time because of the great batt life. This unit is much brighter than a $150 NR unit my friend has and has at least as good batt life and much better beam.

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
I've been using this light almost daily (or should I say nightly). I run it for about 10 minutes at a time and have done that for the past 3 months with seemingly no difference in brightness due to battery drain.
The removable clip-mount is super-convenient to remove the light for storage. I did end up using a little bit of an old handle bar grip to keep the mount from moving around too much and get a tighter hold to my handlebars.
Great light... definitely recommended.

Great light for a safer ride home after work.
Easy to install and with the mico adjustment on the strap under the light bracket. I got it to fit with out any slippage. That was one thing I was concerned about after reading the reviews, but it fits perfect. I also like the fact that the batteries are rechargable and they are the same size as the battries for my camera, so I didn't need to buy a charger. The design it self is well thought out. Easy to operate, battery removal and the little cutouts on either side of the light, so you can be seen from the side like side markers on a car. The only thing I didn't care for it only comes in white, All though that could be another safty factor and probably reflects the heat during the day for a longer life.

Comments about Planet Bike Blaze 1-Watt Front Bike Light:
After a lot of research, I bought this one for mainly suburban commute duty (lots of pre-dawn riding). It's definitely a good value for money, nice and bright, with the flash mode handy when approaching busy intersections. I echo the comments about the loose fit to the mount. I have average-sized, round bars, and after trying several different strap settings could not get the mount snug enough to prevent slippage when pressing down on the power button. (The problem seems to be that there's only a small square of rubber on the strap, with the rest of the clamping surface made mainly of hard plastic.) A quick application of a strip of inner tube wrapped around the bar before applying the mount, and everything's great. Probably easier on the mount this way as well, since you don't have to torque it down quite so tight.
Not sure at this point whether I'll experience the issues that a few folks have had with the mount breaking. (My routes are pretty smooth, so that will help.) Luckily, Planet Bike is good about making parts for their products available at reasonable prices.
