Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
This is a fantastic garment. This garment is very durable and functional. The only drawback I have is that every cold weather garment I look at has thumb holes in the sleeves. While I like thumb holes, I wish that I could find some shirts without the holes. I do not need every shirt I own to have thumb holes in the sleeves.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I love REI's Power Stretch Half Zip Top for exercise in cold weather. It's so comfortable I will often times just wear it as a casual shirt out and about or wear it in my apt. in the winter months when I don't feel like spending all my money on heating and want to keep the thermostat turned down a bit. However, I have one frustration in that I really believe it was the wrong decision to move the pocket to the arm. It was so much easier when it had a front chest pocket. I could get to my keys, credit cards, or my mp3 player so much easier. If I had known REI was going to do this, I would have bought more of last year's version. It feels like change for change's sake. I hope there are others that feel this way so that there's a compelling reason to restore the pocket to it's original spot. I can't recommend this version because I prefer last year's version.

bought this shirt on sale with a gift card. would not have paid full price for the shirt if it wasn't on sale. however, i'm very glad i bought this great piece of outer/layer wear! like all of rei products it's rock solid sewn and very functional. its left arm pocket is in a great position and holds an mp3 player or phone real conveniently. shirt is thicker than other fleece shirts with a great fleece collar. zipper also zips lower than many other fleece shirts for greater venting. only drawback i don't care for is the sizing. the tag claims "athletic fit". normally i would wear a medium but it was way too small. even with the stretch material, i wish the large was slightly bigger. still a great product that i'll get many years of use out of. go buy one before they are gone.

This product is the best. I've purchased these power stretchs for many years. I like mine so much I give them as gifts to my kids every Christmas and they live in theirs. We use them for all cooler outdoor activities. From Alpine skiing, running, golf or just going to the store. My three adult kids would be very disappointed if they do not find one under the tree.

I was looking for a warm, breathing, quick drying insulating layer to wear under my Mountain Hardware Windstopper fleece. This product was suggested to me by my pleasant and knowledgeable sales person. So, I got home and went for a walk with my layering setup; I was warm. When I got back the plows had finally come by, and I decided to shovel the deposited snow. After a few minutes I took off my MH Windstopper and still stayed warm. Once I was finished I went inside and took it off. I noticed all the moisture was drawn outward, but the inside was dry and warm. I was amazed. Everything the sales person told me was true. This is an awesome product. Now that we just got dumped on with snow I'll break out the snowshoes and put this to good use.

I've owned a powerstretch top for about three years, and bought one since all the guys (and girls) I work with recommended it to me. I have run in it down to about 30 degrees, snowboarded in it under a shell (alone), hiked Mt. Washington in Feb. in it under a shell (alone), and gone ice climbing in it. I wait for the average temps to be 40 or below so I can have an excuse to wear it. The only issue I've ever had with it is that if you spend three days hiking in the tops and bottoms, they start to smell a little, but what wouldn't? I love this product.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I bought several of these and love the material which is stretchy, warm, somewhat stylish, and has a smooth anti-lint exterior face with a fleecy interior. I really want to love the shirt but I can't. They are too tight under the arms. I normally wear a medium and a large was still too tight. Furthermore, the sleeves are way too long - longer than the 2007 version and they have added thumb holes in the 2008 version. This is a terrible decision which makes casual wear much less appealing. The sleeves are 4 inches too long, no exaggeration. That might be OK for hiking or jogging but having the sleeves extend past the knuckles is a bit ridiculous when at work or home. I'm 6'1" so its not short arms. If REI can fix these issues in 2009 I will buy half a dozen. Until then, I have returned all but 2 of these shirts which still have limited use despite their glaring flaws.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
This product is great except for the pocket. After only less than 5 months of wear, the tape around the pocket has begun to peal off. It's to the point now where we realized that the zipper is not even sown on, it's only held in place by the tape! There is no way of repairing this and just ripping the tape off would leave a hole in the arm with a bunch of grey residue around it:(
