The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
Been looking for a leak-proof, stainless, insulated, clippable mug that I can take on my bike or in my car. Finally found it - Yes! I don't have the drinking problems other users seem to have, but here's the rundown on my down sides: clip is flimsy; logo was sticky until I scrubbed it off completely (sorry, REI...). And the color flakes off the colorful mugs. If you buy this, stick with the plain stainless. [...]?REI, if you read this, please: a stronger (metal?) clip, no wimpy colors or logos, and find a US maker for it. Then, it'd be perfect.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
I have been using this coffee cup for over a year now. This coffee cup is built very well and does not leak when the cup is closed. I was a bit skeptical at first when the advertisement claimed it would not leak. After a year and a half of taking this cup everywhere it has definitely stood up to everything I have put it through. This cup even survived an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) detonation that struck our vehicle in Afghanistan causing our vehicle to roll multiple times. The clip on the handle is very convenient when attaching the cup to bags, etc... I am going to purchase a coupe more of these cups very soon!

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
Well I bought 2 of these, both stainless.
I am just going to assume that the 2011 model has had all the bugs of previous years versions all ironed out because I don't see ANY of these problems with the two we have.
The lid is 100% spill PROOF as far as just turning it on its side or upside down and you can leave it that way for hours without losing a drop.
The biggest previous complaint seems to be the "sticky label" problem but that does not exist now, they have apparently addressed that because the label is now nicely silk screened on with durable ink.
There is no white on our labels, just plain black ink.
The lid screws on nicely and easily and can go either left or right handed depending on where you start. (some other reviewer stated the "lid does not come off" now that is funny that they didn't know it was a screw off lid and they poured their coffee in through the small sip hole, gotta love that)
The flip top does have a indent that keeps it wide open if you wish.
There is no pressure relief hole as others have stated, but I think maybe the hole must be a bit larger than previous years because I can take as big of a sip of hot coffee as I can stand and it is a smooth pour just like if there were no lid at all, you would have to turn this thing darn near upside down to cover up the top of that sipping hole where you would then need a relief hole. So the size/shape of that sipping hole must be different and there is absolutely no need for a relief hole thus when the lid is snapped shut makes this mug totally spill proof.
We have only had these a few days so I cannot speak on durability of the handles or if the lid is still easily breakable.
I do know that our lid looks different than is shown in these pictures, ours is mostly rubber over the top.
As far the insulation of these, I can certainly say that they keep a piping hot cup of coffee quite hot for at least an hour and that is with the snap top mostly open and the last few sips at the bottom after an hour are still very warm.
I am drinking out of mine right now as a matter of fact, my coffee is half gone, has been in cup for at least 25 minutes and it seems about as hot right now as it was when I poured it in there.
I am sure if you poured a full cup and snapped the lid shut and left it like that it would still be very warm and drinkable for at least 2-3 hours.
I am talking in a warm environment, 60-70 degrees, inside your house etc.
Have not used these yet outside camping in cold wind and sub 40 degree temps, so can not speak to how well they would work sitting at a cold windy campsite.
This is not a "thermos" and not designed to keep coffee piping hot for 12 hours, it is a MUG and designed to keep your coffee very drinkable for at least an hour which it does quite well.
If you haven't drank your mug of coffee within an hour or so then you really didn't want a cup O joe.
So far these seem like a very nice spill proof insulated mug.
If things change later on I will update this review accordingly.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
I have this mug clipped onto my messenger bag, or backpack all the time. It has never once leaked. I love that it's the best hybrid between the traditional travel mug and your standard ceramic mug. This is a short mug that maintains it's balance, like a ceramic mug, but has the transportability of the travel mug. Some of my favorite features include: the clip-on handle - it provides for maximum convenience when on-the-go; the rubber, skid-free base - hangs tight onto the center console in my car; leak-proof lid - allows me to do my thing without worrying where my coffee might end up. All in all - probably the best investment of the year thus far.
***I've had my mug for a couple of months now and have yet to experience any issues with the label... I do follow the hand-wash only guideline, though. Perhaps that is the problem for you sticky label reviewers?

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
I use this cup everyday just like the previous version of the REI cup. They seem to have fixed the problem with the breaking handles. This new design also doesn't leak like the older one did.
My only complaint now is that I use this cup almost 100% for hot coffee and the sticker/paint/label on the front gets sticky and rubs off onto your hands and other things. I don't have this problem when I have say...ice tea or water in the cup. It's only when I have hot items.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
Agree w previous commentators on sticky label. The picture posted is accurate. My other beef is that liquid leaving the mug creates a vacuum because there is no pressure attenuating hole in the top of the lid. So the liquid flows in relative fits and starts as the vacuum is created and then overcome. Can make peaceful morning coffee a challenge. I drilled hole in lid to correct flaw. Works fine now.

This mug is great for what it is designed to do and that is hold my coffee every morning. It does not spill or leak. Yeah the label came off pretty quick but who cares. The Clip grip is a great feature i can clip it on my pack, harness, boat doesn't matter keeps the coffee in there and Hot.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
I read the reviews on this mug and decided to try it for myself. The rei logo definitely gets tacky when hot liquids are put into the mug. I started playing with it and began rubbing it off after a while. I later used a hair dryer to heat is up and remove the rest of the logo. Problem solved, no more sticky mess and my coffee still stays warm. The only other thing I have noticed is that when you have really hot liquids in the mug, the flip top does not always seal because of the steam trying to escape.

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
i have had this mug 3 times. i like the design, and how it feels to drink out of. its also relatively spill-resistant. it's bulky for backpacking and doesn't fit in the cup holder of my car, but great for car camping and at work. however, the lid has broken 3 times. REI replaced it each time, but i recently decided that i would rather have a more durable lid and sturdier overall design than the ability to clip it on to my bag (that happened only a handful of times in 5 years).

Comments about REI Camp Cup with Clip Grip:
First off, I may have a newer, improved version of the mug than previous reviewers because the label is painted on and is super durable. The label is also the same color as the mug (marine) and does not have any black or white on it. I have only had the mug for about 2 weeks but it seems great so far. The handle could be a little more sturdy, as said by a previous reviewer, but i think it will last. The reviewer who drilled a hole in his/her lid doesn't understand the purpose of this mug. I take mine on my bike to class in the morning and my tea is hot and ready to go, no leaks. Thats the bottom line.
