Comments about Michelin City Trekking Tire - 700 x 28:
Bike to work, mostly city streets. Bought these for Seattle winter for rain / frost to improve grip. A bit sluggish compared to my 700x25 slicks but I think of it as good training. Worth it -- tires seem to be really durable, much better grip on the road, and added bonus of reflective stripe around the entire sidewall for better visibility

Comments about Michelin City Trekking Tire - 700 x 28:
recenlty bought a Cannondale Badboy9 that came with Kojak tires. They have no tread & twice the bike slipped out from under me on wet pavement while NOT turning sharply or moving fast.
I replaced them with these trekking tires. substantial tread and a nice grip. i no longer worry about bike cornering on wet pavements.
Puncture resistent and almost half the cost of gatorskins or amardillos.
i highly recommend these tires. they were recommended to me by a bike mechanic at the sacramento store. I bike 18 miles a day, 5 days a week - 6 miles on surface streets and 12 miles on the American Bike Trail.

Comments about Michelin City Trekking Tire - 700 x 28:
These tires always seemed to have a tenuous grip on a wet surface, which here in Seattle is 90% of the time. . . making me very uncomfortable, especially while cornering. My bike has slipped out from under me on numerous occasions, especially on any contact with road paint. All those sharrow markings are a nightmare. And definitely avoid those yellow wheelchair ramps on sidewalk corners when they are wet.
That being said, these tires performed as expected on dry surfaces and crushed gravel. They were reasonably fast despite their weight. And one of the reasons I originally got them was their puncture resistance which I found to work quite well.
I am speaking in the past tense because today I had to order some replacement tires to these (different brand) because after about 2000 miles my rear tire is bulging and ripping at the casing near the rim. Seems a little early to me as there is a reasonable amount of tread left.

Comments about Michelin City Trekking Tire - 700 x 28:
i purchased a 700x35 michelin city trekking tire at reno, nv rei.
from handling various 700c commuter/urban tires in the store this tire had the most durable feel to it. strong sidewalls and a tough casing. store help there said it was one of their most puncture proof tires.
i was using a flimsy kenda kwik-roller tire with standard innertube. this combination was very susceptible to a particular type of thorn in reno and was getting punctured often. i swicthed to a serfas tuono tire with standard tube hoping for better puncture resistance but they didnt work either and the tire was defective.
after purchasing this tire i found a good thorn specimen to stick into this tire. the tread casing is thick so the thorn didnt go all the way through..thats good. i also have coupled this tire with a true-goo super duty innertube. hopefyully this combo will be resistant to the thorns and other road debris.
this adds a little more weight but i am on a urban bicycle anyway with internal hubs and often carry many pounds worth (~25lbs)of groceries so a few extra grams isnt noticed.
grip seems good on technical tight turns on bikepaths. tread channels look as if they would move water adequately.
hopefully durability wont be be a negative issue.
