    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Osprey Ace 48 Pack - Youth is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Pack to grow in Bought this for one of our kids to go on her first backpacking trip. She carried a load of bare essentials, sleeping bag + pad, long underwear, extra socks and a few light accessories, didn't want to ruin the experience by loading her down much. There was plenty of room left for her to carry more if needed. Pack held up well, we were even hailed and rained on coming out to the trailhead on the 3rd day, rain cover performed as it should. One complaint is the pack doesn't have front zippered access, something I require in a pack for myself. My only other complaint is the padding, especially on the waist belt could be a little more robust but it definitely saves weight by having less padding. Overall, it is a great pack for a youth and will adjust to fit her for many more years and trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding comfort and flexibility Very impressed by the quality of the straps, stitching, and buckles. Will be abused by boy scout. Only been out once so far but did well on a 5 mile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great backpack I've used this backpack for both several-day trips and day hikes. It's been super comfy and is very adjustable. I like all the pockets, which make it easy to organize my stuff. The one flaw in this backpack is the back pocket: it is made of mesh and little things snag onto it easily. Also, I have had it for only one year and already the mesh pocket is covered with dirt that is difficult to clean. Overall, this is a great backpack for day hikes, backpacking trips, and carrying a reasonable load.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack for kids! Bought this product for my 12 year old daughter. I took her to the REI store so she could be fitted by a pro and could try it on with a load to see how it feels. This was the second pack she tried on and it was obvious that it was the right pack for her from the moment she put it on. We took it out on an overnight and she carried everything in it that she needed for herself including sleeping bag, tent, clothes, food and all the other little things that you need. I didn't have to carry a thing for her and her pack weight minus water came in at about 17 pounds. After a short 2 mile hike and overnight camping, I would call the pack a success. My criteria for success in this case may be a little low, but there were no complaints or whining during the trip. The pack was comfortable for her and carried the load well. We'll be using it on longer trips in the future, but this was a good first test of the pack, it's comfort and features. The only con I can come up with is the weight of the pack itself. It's not ultralight, but the trade off is the comfort of the kids and if they are happy and having fun then the pack is doing it's job! Great pack at a great price! I would definitely purchase this pack again and recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One ofthe best kids pack I've ever seen. I purchased this pack a couple of years ago for my oldest son. It turned out to be the best pack that anyone in the family has owned. When it came time for my younger son to get his pack, I looked around, and still could not find a better pack for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Back Pack for a Scout I purchased this backpack for my son who is currently a Star scout. He is in training for Philmont Hiking in 2015 and this was the right choice for his profile(5'ft 90lbs). The bag allows plenty of room for growth while at the same time preventing him from carrying more than he should (30lbs currently). The bag is easy to adjust, add and remove items, and very durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic pack for small-medium person! This pack is awesome! I bought it for my 12-year-old son's first backpacking trip (three nights of "real" backpacking, then three nights of primitive lodging at a base camp). He is 4'10" and weighs 85 lbs. The pack adjusts easily to fit his height (and could go smaller), and it weighed only 20 lbs completely loaded for the three nights of backpacking. I've experiemented with the height adjustment, and it's perfect for me as well (5'3") and could easily go several inches higher-- maybe 5'7" to 5'8". If/when my son gets over 5'8", this pack will go to his sister. It has many nice features, like zipper access from the bottom of the main compartment if you need to get something out from the bottom without unpacking everything, many pockets for organizing, and easy access to items during the day. There are many adjustments to the straps, hip belt, etc., which make it comfortable for different body types. It also includes its own rain cover. I highly recommend this pack for a child or anyone under about 5'7".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Starter Pack This was a birthday gift for my 10 year old son who will be joining Boy Scouts. His older brother has this same pack and we have been very happy with it. Neither boy has alot of bulk to them, so this is the perfect size for them now. Since they are close to the bottom of the adjustment range, there is plenty of room for it to grow as they do.
