Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock Trekking Poles - Pair:
I spent a lot of time checking out the options for trekking poles at the store and selected these for their adjustability mechanism and many other features. I liked the adjustment style better than the clips on so many other trekking poles because it didn't hurt my fingers. The poles are great during the hike, however in the past year, they've broken twice, as I stood at the car preparing for my hike. I would try to adjust the height so I could begin hiking with them, and they wouldn't tighten back down. The screwing mechanism would just keep spinning and spinning. The first time I took them back to REI and exchanged them for an identical pair, but after today's episode, I'm switching to another set. I've probably taken them hiking about 10 times, and 2 failed starts is too much for me. I need more reliable poles than that.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock Trekking Poles - Pair:
In general I really like these Leki poles. I like how lightweight they are, I like that they can expand and collapse to a wide range of sizes and I like the strength of aluminum over the carbon fiber poles.
Unfortunately they collapse way too easily. The "screw" mechanism makes it too easy for them to come lose on the trail so you'll lean on one and have it collapse under you.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock Trekking Poles - Pair:
i am 13, and most people would say that boys my age dont need these. whell they are wrong depending on where i go. I just got back from the Adirondacks, where these (1)saved my knees, and (2)helped me make it up some really super tough steep moutains, and hills. the shocks were great for going down hill. This particular terrain, was very rocky, and lots of big steps down. if i did not have these poles, my knees would not have held for 6 days out in the middle of the high peaks wilderness. i fell in love with these as soon as i got them. I truly feel like a pro now!!
the only slight problem is as a result of them being made out of aluminum, they clatter every time they hit the ground. but i got used to it after the first few hours.

Comments about Leki Thermolite Antishock Trekking Poles - Pair:
I purchased two pairs of these poles...the first stopped locking after about a month. The second pair stopped locking before the first use.
