Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
I used these for the mountaineering route up Mt. Whitney. They worked great with plenty of grip. No complaints.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
I have used these crampons extensively for snow climbing and on alpine routes. For this type of climbing, the flat front points work very well. Especially on steep snow, the crampons feel very secure. For vertical waterfal ice climbing, I have found that the front points bounce off the ice sometimes. In short, they do what they are designed to do.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
I broke these crampons on Mt. Adams, first time out. The adjuster wouldn't lock down (then later wouldn't pull out) and the straps are so thin I couldn't get a good grip on them to even tighten properly (think ice-cold frozen fingers trying to work paper thin webbing). When one broke and fell off my foot (twice) it was on a rather steep section and caused allot of anguish trying to put the thing back on. Total garbage.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
I bought a pair several years ago and have loved them. I have used them on anything from easy snow slogs to icy alpine couliers. I have never had trouble with snow building up on them or the straps coming loose.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
I am 6' 2" tall and normal proportions. These crampons (like most) are made for people [...] average height.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
This is a great general purpose crampon. I've had mine now for a couple years and are still in good shape. Easy to put on/take off/stow. They have lived up to my expectations for sure!

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
Worked great on mixed ice and snow up to 60 degrees. Easy to walk in and just enough stiffness to make walking in a stout pair of backpacking boots a breeze. Would not use for verticle ice.

Comments about Petzl Vasak Flexlock Crampons:
The Petzl Vasak series is an excellent crampon, and the flexlock has a very simple design. Which is compatible with any style of boot.
I've used these on many trips and have been very pleased with the durability and performance.
The anti-ball plates work very well, and I've done glacier travel as well as ice climbing, and haven't had any problems.
