The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Outdoor Products Coated Tarp - 9 x 7:
I used this tarp as a front porch to my Half Dome 2. It rained hard for two days while I cooked under it, stored most of my gear, and even lit a small fire. The tarp did collect some water, but it never leaked. Mr. Walton will allow you to procure one of these for four or five, if you know what I mean.

Comments about Outdoor Products Coated Tarp - 9 x 7:
I took this tarp on a 50 mile backpacking trip with my Boy Scout troop in the olympic mountains. It was great when it rained. it was very light and took up like no space in my backpack. I think they should make even bigger sizes. I recommended this product to everyone in my scout troop. Overall i think this is a great product.

Comments about Outdoor Products Coated Tarp - 9 x 7:
I sleep under this tarp a long with a granite gear haven bug net, while the combined weight is about 2.4 pounds plus another .4 pounds or so of p-cord for set up. at 2.8 pounds it is a lighter and cooler solution for summer camping, which still provides adequate protection from bugs. during colder seasons the bug net can be dropped and the weight replaced with warmer layers and sleeping bag. the tarp is a perfect blend of light weight and durable. for heavy use I would not want a lighter weight tarp.
the only draw back to the tarp is that the doubled over seem collect water during heavy rain fall. this has both its pros and cons. In a survival situation it could provide a good source of potable water if no other collection method is available. also by collecting water some of the runoff is prevented from flowing under the tarp. however, the seems of the tarp take longer to dry and drained of water. hanging the tarp vertically helps drain the seems, although the water can be squeezed out as well.
This is an excellent tarp and with the right equipment it can even be used in cold weather. This is a great product for any experienced outdoor adventurer.

This tarp is a great compromise between weight, cost, and ruggedness. It fits my bill perfectly. Primary use has been camp kitchen/lean-to.

We used this tarp during an 8 day canoe trip - we experienced heavy rains during the trip and were quite disappointed to find the tarp seam leaked. As we experienced rain throughout the bulk of the trip, this was quite a disappointment.
