The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Chefware Nonstick Frypan - 8'':
I generally prefer to travel light when I hike alone -- using an alcohol stove, dainty cookware, and a bivy tent. But when I can split the load with another hiker (my son, for example), a few luxuries are welcomed. This frying pan is a luxury, and despite its bulk and heft, has provided us with some terrific meals.
This pan is remarkably sturdy. It is made with a high quality anodized aluminium, and has a very durable teflon surface. The less expensive pan offered by REI, which is roughly half the price of this product, is visibly inferior in both respects. The bottom of this pan, for example, is slightly ribbed, or grooved, and resembles a high-quality frying pan for the kitchen. The handle is very sturdy and securely locks in place when it is opened.
We have used this pan on a variety of stoves and on open fires, as pictured below. In one picture we are frying Northern Pike fillets caught during a nine day trip to Isle Royale. In that instance, we were using a Trangia alcohol stove. Another picture shows the pan being used to cook blueberry pancakes. In that case we were using an MSR Pocket Rocket canister stove. The heat distribution on the pan is very even, allowing for flawless cakes.
This pan is perhaps best used in a base camp, or when car camping, but it can also be used on trail -- and, let's be honest, who wouldn't enjoy pancakes on trail?

I just purchased this skillet and took it on a 25 mile 4 day hike, and used it every morning for breakfast. While the rest of the group were eating oatmeal, I was making scrambled eggs and pancakes in this skillet. Sure, its a tad heavy and takes up a bit of space in your pack, but good breakfasts were worth it to me, and I hardly noticed the weight.
It worked great whether using with a stove, or right over the campfire. It seems to distribute heat well across the surface and the no-stick surface worked great. I never used any kind of oil.
Because of the no-stick surface, clean up was a breeze. I just used my spatula to scrape it out, then just wiped it down with a wet wipe.
For the price, you can't go wrong with this skillet.

I bought this frypan several months ago and have never been more happy to cook! I use it all of the time (not just for outdoor adventures)- it's the only pan I use in the kitchen. It is incredibly easy and fast to clean, and hasslefree. You will not be disappointed with this frypan.

I bought both the 8" and 10" nonstick REI pans for travel. I carry these with me traveling the world with the military and they are fantastic.
My wife "borrowed" the 10" after discovering how easy they clean-up. They are very well made, handles are quite stable while being used and seem to be very high quality. Wish REI made a similar pot.
I would highly recommend these to anyone doing overland expeditions by vehicle, camping or extended commuting like me!

I used this to cook for 2 people on a 4-day camping trip in Yosemite. My other kitchen gear included: Pinnacle Dualist, small spatula, 2 sporks, mini grater, mini cutting board, utility knife. Although we were car camping, we were flying out there so we wanted to be as minimal as possible with our gear. (although I did bring a big cookstove).
The pan works great- cleans up well. I think in conjunction w/ the Dualist it was just what we needed- I even did a fancy spaghetti dinner one night.
