Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
I use the cooler in my motorcycle saddlebags to keep drinks cold while riding in the south west. On the coolers first use the seams in the lining completely separated and allowed melted ice water to leak inside the saddlebag. It was not a partial separation but a complete seam separation. The shoulder strap is permanently connected on one side and the other side attached with a buckle that comes loose too easily.

Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
I bought this for a trip to Jamaica... cold drinks and storage of some food was really necessary. It is the perfect size to hold a 6 pack of beer plus additional cokes, etc. since it is material and can change its shape. Used it recently in Australia, took it everywhere, to the beach, camping, kayaking and in the car while traveling. I like the size and shape, the four pockets (one on each side) are really useful for stowing misc. stuff, suntan lotion, etc. (front pocket is great for napkins and utensils) However, when filled with ice, it does leak when the ice eventually melts. I think that it is probably not as efficient as a normal cooler and probably better if you use the frozen ice box things rather than ice. However, for the size and the quality of the design I would suggest buying it. The straps are nicely padded so it doesn't dig into your shoulder if it is heavy. I am considering buying the picnic size cooler because of its ease of use and stowability. This is a benefit when traveling overseas, you don't want to carry big bulky coolers on the plane!

Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
Cooler folds down and packs nicely in luggage for air travel. Bottle opener is a nice touch. Loaded this cooler up with hotel ice, bottled water, few beers and stuffed it in the bottom of my pack. It didn't leak a drop and kept everything very cold, actually surprised me. Spent the whole day hiking and spending the day at La Playita in Baja and still had ice when I got back to the hotel. Total excursion time was about 6 hours. I am glad I got this cooler, solid performer for sure.

I fill this thing up with food for a day at work. It holds lunch, snacks, drinks, etc. Holds the right amount for my needs. Also use it in the car on day trips. Looks great (compared to most coolers I see). I like the expandable sleeves on either end. Perfect for my water bottle or a small thermos. Could be easier to clean. You know what would make it "cooler"? A removable plastic "bucket" inside to bolster the sides and contain spills. Otherwise it's the best one I've owned.

I love this cooler. It holds a 6-pack perfectly, and comes with a bottle opener. Overall, very sturdy, and looks nice. Plenty of room to hold extras. However, the thin liner suddenly split at one of the joints inside. Bummer, dude.

Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
I've used Coleman coolers as my lunchbox, both the hardsided ones and a softsided ones, as well as a generic one I got at the drugstores. I wish I'd gotten one of these a long time ago. The handgrip is quite comfortable, the sewing and material quality is high. The plastic liner is sewn in, but not attached at the bottom, so can be pulled out (everted) for cleaning. Not as easy as a hardsided plastic insert like my last cooler, but the other features outweigh this. One strange thing about it - there are webbing straps with a bit of Velcro at the end on the inside of the lid. These can be attached to a bit of Velcro on the back of the cooler, perhaps to hold the lid open? Doesn't work very well and I don't see the point. I expect it to last much longer than my prior coolers, and looks more professional, in a typical outdoorsy REI sense.

Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
This cooler is made of more substantial materials than similar coolers at discount stores. It holds a lot, which is very useful for those who eat lots of salad, fruits and veggies which take up space. I take my breakfast, lunch and snacks to work in it and it all fits. Also great for geocaching trips and day trips. Plastic ice packs work great in it.
Service and delivery comments:
Very fast delivery, as usual.

I picked this cooler up on a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and used it extensively as my daily cooler by packing breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack each day. This thing really held up!
I have also used it as a small picnic basket making samwiches/chips for the family (4) and taking it on day trips.

Comments about REI Personal Cooler:
I bought 2 of these coolers for my husband and I to use to carry lunches to work. I like the larger size of this cooler to pack the many reusable containers that we often use for our lunches. I liked the colors that were available and the cooler seems to be well made.
My ONLY complaint is that the shoulder strap is not removable. It seemed a touch bulky to me and I removed the metal buckle and the padded shoulder protector thingie and folded the rest of the strap into one of the side pockets, which works ok.
The outside pockets are a really nice touch and provide extra storage. We both use one side pocket to store our travel/commuter mugs, and the other side pocket for the folded up shoulder strap. The front zip pouch is also nice for keeping extra silverware, reusable napkin, etc. There is also a back pocket AND there is a loop sewn onto the back so that you can hang the cooler from a hook or attach something to it (keys?, bottle opener?).
The cooler is collapsable and you can secure it in a collapsed state with 2 attached velcro straps. This is a really nice feature for storage.
I can fit 2 of these coolers in the bottom shelf of my fridge. Perfect! :)
