Comments about Black Diamond Mirage 2 Tent:
Don't be afraid to order the Mirage 2 online, because it is everything the REI Quarter Dome isn't. I had the latter with 3 major issues-First, the fly and tent did not keep out rain on 2 different trips, which was funny the first trip and frustrating the second. Second, in windy conditions, the tent blew all over the place (unsturdy frame) as well as letting sand blow in (see issue #1). All of my stuff had grime all over it in the morning. Third, I'm 6'0 and it was tight for two both length- and width-wise.
The Mirage 2 is cavernous in comparison and only 3 more ounces. The fly worked flawlessly, and I now totally believe the other review about the hurricane (which I thought was made up to impress), because in high winds and rain the tent was immobile, and I slept very well (and dry). I, too, got the tent when it was on sale. And for the money you get a lot more room/quality in a tent than the T2.

Comments about Black Diamond Mirage 2 Tent:
Camping through Hurricane Ike was a thrill. I live an hour north of Austin. The strong winds and rain did nothing to phase this tent. It stayed completely dry and secure in 50 mile an hr plus winds and downpours. This tent is light weight easy to setup and take down within minutes. At last months price [$]this tent was a absolute steal!

Comments about Black Diamond Mirage 2 Tent:
This tent is easy to set up and really comfortable, although I've only slept in it by myself. I'm not sure how comfortable it would be with two people! I especially like the extra vestibule space the fly provides. It's a good way to keep your shoes free of condensation through the night.
