Comments about Keen Voyageur Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
A big group of us hiked Mt. Whitney this September at least half of us purchased these keens. The hike was really hard and we all had complaints but it was unanimous that these keens were the most comfortable boots any of us had worn. They are cushy soft, have great support, yet are much more flexible than your average hiking boot. One of the hikers who has had chronic blister problems had no problems for the first time.(and we have done hundreds of miles of hiking)I highly recommend these boots.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
As with nearly all keen boots, you may have to buy a half size larger than your usual size. I have a bunion that requires a wider toebox to avoid bunion/joint pain, and the Keens are the only shoes that provide plenty of room for the joint to stay stable and pain free. I also have weak ankles which require mid or hightops. However, to avoid blisters, a boot also needs to be able to be tightened across the instep and ankle so your feet do not slip and allow the toes to touch the end of the boot on a decline. This boot perfectly fits the bill, allowing room for the bunion while preventing the foot from sliding around. I took these home from r.e.i. to break them in on my treadmill to see if there are any "hot spots" after a mile of walking on different degrees of incline (wearing my wool blend socks and liners). The Columbias went back, but these Keens did not cause a single hot spot, and felt comfortable from the start. I bought these boots after specifically shopping for non-waterproof boots for packing in dry, warm conditions where waterproof boots would be way too hot/sweaty. Because of the lack of goretex lining, they run a half size larger than the Targhee.

I LOVE these boots. I tried on what felt like hundreds of boots and the instant I put these on, I knew that these were mine! I have a wide foot, and these fit perfectly. I've worn them in slippery mud and all terrain. They've never failed me. I didn't even really have a break in period. They were great from day one. The strap that holds the boot against your heel really keeps the rubbing down and I haven't had any problems with blisters (which is something that I ALWAYS have problems with). So far, so good. I'm blister free!
The mid-height gives great ankle stability when you're wandering around uneven terrain. The sole is comfortable and takes the pressure off of the ball of your foot (where my socks tend to wear holes). It's a great boot for the trail or just everyday wear.
I'm a Keen fanatic because of these.

Comments about Keen Voyageur Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
These were very comfy right out of the box, with no breaking in required. They accommodate orthodics easily. They are great for day-hikes on well groomed trails. I recently used them to climb Mt. Whitney, and they did not even begin to offer enough protection to my soles from the rocks, so it was a rather painful trip. I am returning them for something with a more rugged sole.

I bought these shoes for my first hike. I have a weak ankle and bunions! I was a little apprehensive about my feet holding up but needn't have been. These shoes are wonderful! My feet were comfy, well supported, protected and kept dry (it was a warm day)and my ankle did not bother me one bit! I looked at several pairs but am very glad that I chose these!

I just happened to buy these the night before our backpacking trip - usually a big "no-no". However, these boots fit so well and were so comfortable there was really no need to break them in. I wore them on a 10-mile hike without any problems at all. I was even caught in the water a couple times - the boots drained well and dried while I hiked.

I liked the fit and support of the waterproof Targhee better than this shoe. This shoe felt wider for the same size. I would like to see stickier soles for both boot models.

This is a great boot for warm-weather hiking or trekking. They really do breathe! Great Keen fit and lots of ankle support. I wore them for a 5-mile rocky hike right out of the box and I had no blisters or soreness.
My only complaint (and it's purely cosmetic) is that the light blue fabric trim really shows the dirt. It would be nice if they used a tan or beige fabric for the trim, especially as these are designed for warm weather (ready dusty) trail conditions.

These look way better than in the picture. The Drizzle color is a nice medium brown and the blue surf color is not too bright. They are very comfortable right out of the box. Great for everyday comfort and day hikes. I'm thinking about getting another pair cuz I like them so much.

I love Keens, and these are just as comfortable as the sandals I've been wearing for years. I'm getting ready to hike the Grand Canyon, and wanted some light weight boots to use instead of my heavy duty Colorado mountain boots! These fit the bill, and barely need to be broken in! They feel like a friend of my feet already!
