Without any type of padding on my road bike, my butt would be in pain after 5 miles, to the point of riding out of the saddle. I picked up a few pair of these and now I can easily ride 100+ miles without any discomfort at all, and I don't have to wear bicycle shorts when running errands anymore. One recommendation I have though that doesn't relate to these shorts, but for the shorts you wear above them, don't wear shorts that go below your knees, otherwise you will chafe like no tomorrow just below your knees.

I decided to try these because of the 3 previous good reviews -- now I'll be the fourth. If you are a motorcyclist and looking for padding in the right spot, get these. Your jewels will thank you during and after your ride. And the price is right. If I could rate them any higher I would. Care: Cold water, delicate cycle, tumble dry low. I might hang to dry.

After reading the reviews I was very excited to find a pair of liner shorts for about $25 that sounded not only decent, but good. Unfortunately, my review is not a glowing, though my guess is that people who liked the shorts are shaped differently than I am. I had a hard time fitting my legs into the shorts. I bought a medium, and have a size 30 waist. To get the shorts on I had to pull and yank and try to stretch the leg openings - they do not stretch like a Pearl Izumi short would (the waist also seemed a bit large on me). So, if you have skinny legs, they might be great. For the rest of us, I think a more elastic short is a better option. Too bad, they were very attractively priced and appear to be of good quality. I would still recommend the shorts to a friend if the individual had a lanky build, or thin legs.

As my riding evolved from once-a-month casual mtn biking to daily road + mtn biking, these shorts have gone from just being handy to being a virtual requirement for me. I could see where guys with extra-large upper legs would find these overly tight, but for me the fit is almost perfect - just enough grip to keep everything in place, and the padding is a blessing for both long road rides and bumpy/root-infested singletrack. I also like the flexibility of boxers - I've worn these with shorts, pants, and even with thermals for snow-biking.

These shorts made me like my bike a lot more. Until I got them, I'd always limited myself to short rides because I would get saddle sore. Recommended for anyone who needs a bit more padding but feels normal cycling shorts are too revealing (or too expensive).
You won't want to wear these much off your bike; while the padding is comfortable and well positioned in a riding posture, it does feel awkward while standing or walking. My only real complaint is the elastic at the leg openings seems a little tight, but it does do the job of keeping them from riding up.
