With a gel-padded chamois for shock absorption, Novara Metro Gel double shorts create happy trails.

  • Woven nylon/Lycra® spandex rugged outer shorts move easily with you; shorts pull moisture away from you and dry quickly
  • Fixed, moisture-wicking, two-way stretch polyester mesh liner shorts allow ample ventilation for cooling and have a built-in chamois pad for comfort
  • Precurved Gel chamois conforms to body contours; high-density foam helps to provide comfort in the saddle
  • Gel pad system dissipates shock and reduces skin irritation by forming a fluid barrier between the hard saddle shell and the cyclist
  • Microfiber chamois is soft and moisture wicking; center air channel maximizes breathability

      Outstanding comfort and fit. One of the best pair of shorts I have. Only downside is there is no belt although there are belt loops. You don't really need a belt with these shorts. Length is just above the knee. Nice flexible fabric, with just the right amount of cushioning. I am recreational rider, so ride about 6 miles a day. Sunday's I get up before the family and ride 25 to 30 miles and these shorts are outstanding. Pockets provide plenty of room for my cell phone, wallet and keys.

        I love the belt loops for adjusting the waist size. I find that a "cloth" belt works better than leather because it is more flexable. I plan to buy another pair soon. I would like to see more colors in lighter hues available. Black does seem to be a little warmer than light colors. I usually ride in 90 degree plus heat this time of year. My average ride is appox. 10 miles, but I do this around 3 times a day just running errands and having fun.

          Bought them in the store and tried them on. Glad I did. I have a 35-inch waist, but the Medium fits better than the Large. Agree with the other reviewer that some way to tighten the waist would be nice, but there are belt loops and that kind of solves the problem. The real reason I bought them is the functional zipper fly that actually works and is hard to find on most lined mountain shorts. I'll probably buy another pair before they disappear or are replaced with an unimproved version. I have some worn out ones from another manufacturer with a functional zipper from lots of years ago but they no longer sell them. These are better designed and better made than those anyway.

          Very good shorts. They fit well. The pockets are good, they dry quickly and breathe ok. The padding, for me at least, is excellent. It is fairly thick but remains comfortable even on 3-hour plus rides. The shorts allow for smooth pedaling as well.

          One drawback is the lack of an adjustable waist. They shorts have some elastic in them but it stretches after wearing a few times and then shrinks after washing.

          I purchased these shorts for a 40 hour EMS bike medic class. They look professional enough to be worn as part of our uniform. The belt loop was essential to carry our equipment. We spent an average six hours a day in the saddle with a hydration pack and various other equipment such as radios. This additional weight can add to rider discomfort. I am writing this review pain free after concluding the class. These shorts excel in all aspects. They are very breathable and comfortable. Highly recommended and worth every penny.
