Comments about REI Super Nova Pack - Kids':
My daughters each have one of these, one pink and the other blue. They are strong, multi-pocketed and have excellent support on a small child's back. They love them and they have been perfect for trips and school. Larger than the tiny kids packs but not too big for a 3-4 year old. Nice.

Comments about REI Super Nova Pack - Kids':
This pack fits my seven year old perfectly. It appears well made and durable, and it has a simple hip belt (no pocket or pads), which keeps the pack from moving too much -- weight relief is not much of an issue in a pack this small. The one issue that I see is the lack of an elasticized sleeve to hold a small reservoir (although it does have a loop and two plastic hooks to suspend a small bladder -- small is obviously the key word here -- I'm using a 35oz Camelbak Omega in it). This means that if you use a bladder, the main compartment functions as a sleeve, which makes carrying any other items in that compartment of questionable wisdom. Not a huge issue, but something to hold a bladder firmly to the back would have been a nice touch. Overall, a very nice pack that will serve well for a day hike or plane trip.

Comments about REI Super Nova Pack - Kids':
The Super Nova for kids is a joke. Fits a 2-3 year old for just the thrill of carrying a backpack. If you want to spend money on that - go to it (silly). Hyped as a good all around pack, it is a tiny tiny pack and won;t carry much but a few small not very essential things. Best for small toys and leave the rest of things needed for the hike and day to the parents. This is too small for a "7 year old." Lucky to get a shirt and a small stuffed animal in there. Won't carry a towel or even fit anything for summer class or even minimal for school if you are looking for ANY versatility. Sold to me as that, spent my time (gas, etc.) to go pick it up and no apologies from store staff. At best this is a child's accessory and one that won't do much. Highly overrated - minimal usage. I give this almost zero stars.
