Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
I just bought this pack a few weeks ago and have about 30 miles on it at this point. I use this pack for days trips into mountainous backcountry. I am usually carrying 15-20 lbs of gear. I am 5'11" and 210#. This is the best daypack I have ever owned. Perfect size. Infinitely adjustable. Super comfortable. The large suspended area in the back covered with tensioned mesh allows air flow like nothing I have ever seen. Works great even when sweating like a pig. Waterproofing on the exposed gear zippers. Perforated padding with mesh covering hip belt and shoulder straps. Tensioning straps so no movement whatsoever even when walking difficult terrain. Fabulous product.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
i use this pack for day hikes so far but i'm planning to use it for warm summer backpacking trips when i don't need a tent and sleeping bag. it has all the adjustment points that you'd find on a much larger backpacking bag so that even your lighter loads will almost be forgotten. the side pockets fit large water bottles (1000 ml, one on each side) and the ventilation system is top notch; keeps me cool and dry. i carry all of my overnight backpacking equipment in this pack with the exception of my sleeping bag and tent which means this pack will do fine for an ultralight weekend

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
The day after I bought this pack I loaded it up w/ a 2 liter hydration bag inside, a 2 liter platypus behind the ventilation screen, other various gear inside, and crammed into the side pockets (Which are quite stretchy) and had my snowshoes and poles strapped onto the outside along with ax and folding shovel (for a total of about 30 pounds) and went on a short snowshoeing excursion. Way more gear than I was going to need that day, but I wanted to test it out. I have to say it did very well indeed! I was quite comfortable the whole time I was out. My only real complaint is that the pack is too tall to allow me to wear my waist-pack with it (I am 6'-2") as I will usually use a day pack & waist pack for longer back-packing trips. All in all I am pleased with the purchase and believe it will serve me well!

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
nearly perfect for single-day adventures. i've used it biking, hiking, and snowshoeing. it's so light you'll barely know it's there, and it straps down tight enough for biking and rock scrambling. it's not actually 30 liters though, the frame design cuts out some of that space. it's got enough room for a 3 liter bladder, shell, extra layer, and snacks. i wouldn't take it on an overnighter, but it is an excellent daypack.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
I used this pack while climbing some Colorado 14'ers. It held 2.5 litres of water, food, crampons, ski goggles/gloves and light fleece in the main pocket. Camera, first aid kit, sunglasses and junk in the outer pockets. Also an add'l litre of water in the outside pockets and an ice axe. After 8-11 hour hikes the pack was still comfortable. The outside loops/tie downs work great for an ice axe but not at all for securing a heavy windshell or poles...maybe good for securing a lightweight summer jacket. I like this pack.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
I ordered another pack online from a different retailer and found it to be feature rich and very uncomfortable. I went to REI and loaded six day packs with 25 lbs. and walked the store. The Venturi 30 was hands down the most comfortable. I couldn't believe how much lighter the load felt in this pack when compared to the others. I purchased it and went home for a pack showdown between the Venturi 30 and the other feature rich pack I wanted to keep so bad. In the end I just couldn't ignore the comfort. I gave up a few features, but comfort is king. The next day I wore the Venturi 30 up Mount St. Helens and it performed wonderfully. It had the perfect amount of space and I was unnoticeable during the trip.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
This is an excellent day pack. The mesh suspension provides great ventilation. A hydration bladder can go on extra hooks between the pack and the mesh to save interior space. The stout little frame keeps the load under control despite the pack's light weight. The waist belt has handy mesh pockets for snacks, compass, etc. This is a pretty ideal day pack for all seasons.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
I hiked up Mt. St. Helens and several places by Mt. Rainier. Pack is very comfortable when I wore it for over 8 hours straight. Packed everything I needed and didn't need. Kept back cool because of design that keeps pack off of mid-back. Very happy with purchase.

Comments about REI Venturi 30 Pack:
I bought this back for a double traverse of the Grand Canyon (rim to rim to rim) in June, although I have used it on many other hikes as well (mostly in Shenandoah NP and sections of the AT). It is very comfortable; I especially appreciate the air space between the pack and my back as it kept both my back and my hydration bag cool even when I was on the long, exposed hike up the North Kaibab from Phantom to Cottonwood. One has to pack conservatively because it is primarily a day pack and not designed for overnight hikes, but it carries weight very well; it never felt like its true weight while it was on my back. I also appreciated being able to stow a lot of snack food in the belt pockets.
