Comments about Thule Universal Flat Top 6-Ski Carrier:
Installed on a Jeep Grand Cherokee factory rack. Low clearance meant I had to put the skis on binding side-up. Therefore, I could barely fit 1 snowboard and 2 pairs of skis. If you're transporting more than 3 skis, look for something like the Yakima FatCat product lines. Thule makes ski racks that are height adjustable - but you can't find them in the US. In the UK check for Thule Deluxe or Snowpro Uplifted.

Comments about Thule Universal Flat Top 6-Ski Carrier:
On the first unit I brought home today the keys did not match the locks. Returned to the store for an exchange.
On the second unit, one key nut was missing from one of the universal mounting brackets.
The third unit will NOT be a THULE!

Comments about Thule Universal Flat Top 6-Ski Carrier:
I have used this rack on a 1996 Ford Explorer and my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On the Explorer I mounted the Thule to the factory rack, and as one other review stated, had a problem with clearance when snowboards were mounted upside down. However, this was easily remedied with the inexpensive Thule riser kit (which I think is now included in the base 91725 kit). It provides an extra 1.5" of clearance, so there is no problem whatsoever with roof clearance for larger bindings.
On my Jeep Cherokee I upgraded to the Thule Crossroad 450 and LB50 Load Bars, and the fit/installation is perfect. Plenty of clearance is available for mounting boards upside down, and it's easy to get 4 boards on/off the rack.
Great product with great durability. I would recommend this to anyone.

Comments about Thule Universal Flat Top 6-Ski Carrier:
I have had no problems with my carrier. Locks work fine, no trouble loading up the gear, no problems with clearance. I can easily put four snowboards up there. I have used it on my Honda Pilot's factory racks as well as Thule Crossbars on a VW GTI hatchback. The only thing I don't like is attaching it to the racks. There isn't a socket that matches the hex key, so it takes awhile to put on. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do: carry my snowboards.
