Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
When I bought one of these for my daughter last year, I bought a North Face Tigger for my son at the same time, because I planned to take him backpacking with me, so he needed a smaller, lighter-weight bag. However, while we were camping this past weekend, although he had the more expensive bag, my son envied his sister's Kindercone for its pocket, its full length zipper, and its ability to let you open the bottom of the zipper to allow your feet to get some ventilation on warmer nights. (The Tigger has none of these features.) So, when I was at the Gear Garage (the 'bargain basement' at the REI Flagship store in Seattle) this afternoon and found a deeply-discounted 'boys' Kindercone that somebody had returned after they put a tiny tear in the fabric, I snatched it up at once!
(Oh, and, by the way, to the -- ahem -- 'silly goose' who gave the Kindercone one star because he or she bought the wrong bag for his or her needs due to his or her own failure to pay attention: your review is not helpful to those of us who pay attention to the "specs" tab for each item on the web site, which gives such info as -- gasp -- the weight of the bag, and the dimensions when it's in its stuff sack. We know how much it weighs and that it isn't an ultralight backpacking bag -- that's not what we were after! (Besides, the low price should tell you that!) Your erroneous one-star rating skews the overall rating, and defeats the purpose of the system. If you bought something that was red when you really wanted green, you wouldn't then pan the product with a one-star rating for daring to be the wrong color, would you?!?!)

My oldest has been using this bag for 3 years in a variety of conditions. It has kept her toasty warm out in Death Valley last year when the early morning temp was 30F in the tent! I bought a second bag for my other daughter's first camping trip to the Mojave Desert this year. Again these bags kept them warm in the cold and windy (gusts up to 50 mph)conditions. No complaints from either of them. The bag is a bit heavy for a young child to carry when backpacking. It's perfect for car camping and sleep overs.

We bought three of these bags for our kids. We are going to purchase another bag for our fourth child. We were camping at Joshua Tree in 40 degree weather in the rain, and our tent leaked. The outside of the bags were wet, however, inside the bags the kids were still warm and cozy. The bags dried quickly the next morning. The bags are easy for the kids to stuff and pack-up themselves. We are an avid car-camping family, and have been using these bags for several years in all kinds of conditions. THe kids love them and so do I - very warm, cozy, and durable!

I ordered two for my kids. When stuffed down, they are larger than adult bags, and can not fit in a youth pack. Unless you only plan on car camping, forget these bags.

Our family just came back from our first family camping experience in Sheboygan WI. My husband and I were freezing during the night. We did not plan well and only had one bag and a few blankets between the two of us. We froze & did not sleep well. Our three girls had these bags. They were warm the entire night and slept very well. This was worth every pennny.

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
This sleeping bag arrived amazingly fast after the order was placed and I was very pleased to open the package and find no surprises, it was exactly as it appeared to be online. My daughter loves this cute, comfortable sleeping bag. It is plenty warm and the two-way zipper is great to open the bottom and create more leg room as well to cool off when it's a little warmer. I was searching online for weeks to find the perfect sleeping bag that was affordable, warm, and cute. I found it all with this bag.
Also, I thought it would be a lot bulkier from the other reviews I read, but I think it compresses nicely and is no bigger than any other backpacking sleeping bag I've had. My 5-year old is too little to backpack now but we plan on using it when she is big enough.
We love it!
