The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
I purchased the Skeletool as a replacement for my original Leatherman tool. Two days before I went on a three week trip to northern Manitoba I found the original and took both tools along.
After three weeks I am not impressed by the Skeletool. On the plus side: It looks sharp, has a nice locking blade (way better than the original) and most tools do more or less what they are supposed to do. However, the glitzy design makes it uncomfortable to use for many tasks, the driver bits are not all that great for poking and prying (when you don't want to use your blade), there is no file or can opener, and, if not careful, the bottle opener breaks the rim of the bottle. The belt clip is handy, but I feel more comfortable having the tool solidly stashed away in a belt pouch after I lost a few things that were attached by a simple belt clip.
The tool is about the same size as the Original Leatherman tool and weighs insignificantly less. It is NOT a full-size multitool at half the weight, as claimed by Leatherman. The open design collects sand and dirt and makes the tool hard to clean. Finally, the tool starts to rust after hanging out in my (admittedly often wet) pant pockets for a bit less than three weeks.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
I'm in the Navy and have owned many, many multi-tools. This is by far the best I've ever had. I love that I don't need a stupid little pouch to put it on my belt.
No ridiculous tools that I never use (like a tiny, worthless saw.) I love that I don't have to open the thing to get the knife. I expected to lose one of the bits first thing, but they stay surprisingly secure and I haven't lost one yet.
The pliers do cut into your hand if you have the flat-tip bit out, easy enough to keep the phillips out instead. Otherwise it's fairly ergonomic and much stronger than expected. I have broken the pliers on all the Gerber brand tools I have used.
The clip bent when I caught it on something, so now I clip it to my belt loop.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
This has become my daily knife, replacing my old favorite, the Swiss Army Knife. I use this thing all the time; I even used the pliers to remove a tick last night.Nice big locking blade accessible without opening the pliers, very cool interchangeable screwing heads, good sturdy pliers, and a bottle opener. The carabiner/bottle opener is cool, and I use the side clip for pants that don't have belt loops. Not super easy to use the screwdrivers because of how you have to hold it (half open), and the flathead bits are sharp if you forget they're in.I bought the Tungsten version of this and almost immediately traded it in for the aluminum, which is plenty durable, barely weighs a few ozs more, and costs [$] less.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
I use to carry just a simple single blade pocket knife that clipped to my pocket. However I noticed that I often asked it to do simple little tasks that it wasn't made for (turn into a screw driver or wire strippers). The Skeletool meets all my needs as a daily tool with way more skill than just a knife but with out going crazy and offering a million options like most multi tools. I use the knife daily for simple cutting of boxes or what ever (nice because it opens on the outside of the handle and locks), but now I have the joy of screw drivers (two sizes of each), pliers (which have worked great fishing on the rivers), wire strippers and don’t forget the bottle opener, all this while still clipping to my pocket.
For simple daily tasks it’s awesome! Have had it for a few months now with no issues and I carry it every day.
If you enjoy having every tool known to man on your hip this is NOT for you.

This is basically a pocket knife with pliers. Which is great. No frills, nothing useless (e.g: orange peeler). I use it every day.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
All around, the best multi-tool I have bought. It has only what you need, nothing you don't. I have brought this camping, keep it in my car and have used it all over the place. It has been reliable in all those circumstances. This is definitely a tool you can count on in a number of different areas.

The blade is great, its sharp enough to shave with. The screwdriver works well but takes some getting used to.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
I love the tool, I wanted the CX model, but it's still not available. So I bought this one.
The tool is a great size, it's built fantastically. It was a little stiff at first, but has loosened a little since I've had it. I carry it everyday on my belt loop(replacing a Leatherman e307x) it works well there. With the size, and functionality I could recommend it to anyone.
The only thing that would make it better would be making it a little lighter, but the only way I could see them doing so is using a lighter metal. I can't say the weight is bad, it DOES feel good in the hand.
I will be buying the CX when/if it ever makes it out, just for the combo blade.
Leatherman did an EXCELLENT job with this design, I only wish they could do a little better with the release.

Comments about Leatherman Skeletool Multitool:
This is an all-around great tool. It has only the functions that I need, and I haven't come upon a single task that I can't do without it.
The pliers are incredibly sturdy, and I feel I can grip hard without hurting my hand. I like the belt clip, although most of the time I keep it clipped on my pocket. The knife was sharp when I bought it, and it keeps a blade well.
The only problem I've ever had with it is a bit of rust in one spot. It is incredibly small, though, and doesn't seem to be getting any bigger.
Overall, this is a great tool for any task.

This is the only leatherman I've liked, ever. Nothing I don't need, super lightweight, very functional.
