Comments about CamelBak Performance Water Bottle - 22 oz.:
I liked the idea of the bottle at first, but after using it once or twice I realized it wasn't the easiest bottle to use. Yes, you don't have to take your eyes off the road to use the bottle but you DO have to exert more energy than one would like to get water up through the straw and out the mouthpiece. Also I had a sneaking suspicion that it would be very hard to clean and the mouthpiece and the space between the mouthpiece and the straw (inaccessible actually) are the perfect places for mildew. Now that there are many other BPA free prodcuts out there, I don't think that this is the best bottle out there.

I have 4 of these now. I have owned MANY water bottles (mainly for road bikes) and this is by far my favorite to use for everyday. I bring them everywhere with me and they NEVER leak. Also, someone mentioned hard to clean. I just pop off the bite piece, pull out the straw and put all parts in the dishwasher; no problem. I am a mom of twins and they fit perfectly in my stroller bottle holders too.

What a great idea! Putting a Camelbak bladder type bite valve on a cycling water bottle with a straw! You can keep your eye on the road and not have to throw your head back to drink. Bottle also locks closed so you can throw it in a vehicle to get where your riding without it dripping. Wide mouth makes putting ice in it easy and plastic is high quality. Only wish it had a flip-up dome cap on it to keep road schmutz off the bite valve. That would make it perfect.

Comments about CamelBak Performance Water Bottle - 22 oz.:
The Camelbak top on this bottle is difficult to get water out of. If you are using this when exercising -- and when else would you use it? -- it's almost impossible to get an adequate drinking while you are breathing hard. When I've used this I've wondered how they brought the product to market without testing it.

Cheaper than many other bottles, polypro rated well for safety, straw can be removed so you can chug from bite valve. Secret to using straw is to occasionally loosen the top to equalize pressure in bottle. It's easy, except maybe when biking. I like it as a take-to-work, around town, or short hike bottle. Not for long hikes or uncoordinated cyclists.

Comments about CamelBak Performance Water Bottle - 22 oz.:
Having been a big fan of the original CamelBak bottle (now Better Bottle), I tried this new design. I don't like it because the bite valve doesn't have as much protection as on the other bottle--it's always sticking straight up, so I don't feel comfortable throwing the bottle in a bag. I'm going to buy a Better Bottle instead.

Own a number of Camelbak bladders, this bottle is so much easier to pull apart, clean, and reassemble.
For folks who want a chug speed bottle, just unscrew the lid! Anyone that has done serious sports knows you're supposed to regulate your hydration.
What would make this bottle perfect is if it had the articulating stem like on the Camelbak Better Bottle.
A good lightweight hydration option for short hikes, biking, or walking around town.

Nice bottle. The valve system and mouthpiece work well. Doesn't spill or leak so you can toss it in a bag and not worry about it.
