Comments about Counter Assault Electric Bear Fence:

I used this on a September NOLS Rocky Mountain course: grizz country. It was effective and easy to use. A plus was storing smelly toiletries or hot cocoa that you might want to access in the evening (after the time you'd normally raise a bear bag). It was tall/awkward to strap to backpacks, but we traded off the chore daily. It's definitely do-able. Small con: we had to carry an extra set of large batteries. A built-in solar battery charger would give it 5 stars. The area inside is quite large, so it would only be useful for large groups. We had 17 people, and could have accommodated more.
