Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I recently wore this fleece on top of a synthetic tee up to Mount Whitney, and I can honestly say I forgot I was wearing it. It was a rather moderate day temperature-wise at the peak, but the wind was blowing pretty strongly. It kept me comfortably warm, cutting out wind chill just like it is supposed to, but until I descended a thousand feet or so and the wind stopped I didn't feel like I needed to take it off. I'm amazed that it can cut chill but not overheat!

I'm 5'11", 175 lbs. The jacket is not a trim fit. It's literally almost as wide as it is long. Not sure what function that serves; perhaps a good jacket for my pregnant girlfriend. Imagine the dimensions of a plastic leaf bag.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I love this jacket. I bought mine about a year ago and wear it almost every day. It has taken care of me on the ski slopes in freezing temps, and been on long over night weekend showshoeing trips in the back country. I am also able to wear it around town because it looks good too. It is great because when I work hard and get damp it breaths really well, and dries fast, so when I stop I am not freezing. The fleece does ball up after a lot of wear, and I have worn the liner down a bit on the inside, but it is nothing more then normal wear. In extreme cold and wind you do need a shell to hold that extra warmth in and keep the wind out. I like this coat so much that I convinced 3 of my friends to buy it as well, and they all feel the same way as I do.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is terrific, it looks good, feels good, and keeps you nice and toasty. The only minor thing I would want is an extra pocket near the chest, need a little more storage for cellphone, keys, wallet & iPod. I have the Blue one and I like it so much I'm thinking of buying the Black & the Green jacket so I have a nice variety to choose from.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Men's:
This jacket fits great; it is comfortable and not bulky like some fleece jackets. Of course it's not as effective as an outer shell but it does block the wind better than a normal fleece.

The TNF Windwall is a nice jacket that blocks wind and cuts the chill. Combined with a light fleece (tka 100) it is good for all temperatures...

I love this jacket. As the previous reviewer, it's very wind proof but not overwhelmingly warm. I'm 140lbs, 5'6" and the Small is perfect. There's plenty of room and not too snug. The pockets are deep (no inner pockets). The material feels strong and comfortable too.

I put it on and it feels like I'm being hugged. I live in Pismo Beach and it gets relatively cold here in the winter. (30 to 50 degrees at night) I have no idea how well it would do in say, upstate NY. But, I'm happy with it here in Pismo Beach.

Comments about The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I was torn between getting this jacket and the Monkey Man jacket from Mountain Hardwear. I wanted a jacket that would keep me warm passing between classes here at UT, which is usually 12-15 min between my buildings. I also wanted something that I would be able to wear hiking in the mountains during the summer. So after a lot of debate I picked this Windwall because it supposedly blocked a lot of wind and seeing as ill be in the mountains during the summer..lots more wind than straight cold. Anyways, I got it and tried it on and like one of the previous comments said..the fitting is off around the waist. It felt like I was covering up with a pringles can..it was just straight all the way down. I sucked it up and tried it out today with about 20 mph wind and about 45 degrees. I could definitely notice the wind being blocked and was grateful for it, but the jacket (even with the waist strings drawn), because of its shape, let tons of wind in from below (hence why I have both windproof and not windproof checked). It just finds its way in. Then the pockets..have a very think layer between the pocket and the inside of the jacket..and any wind blowing into the pockets will go right into you. Also, with the wind coming in from beneath, it will get to your hands in your pockets, since its basically mesh. I only got compliments on it for the orange color here at UT. I tried on a smaller size to see if maybe thats why the wind was coming in, but it didnt make a difference. If that one little flaw were fixed, this jacket would get two more stars for me, but it turned out being an equivalent to Achilles' heel.[...]

I really love the quality and fit of this jacket, but the collar is very odd.. it got folded strangly and is still in that position. I don't really know why. I love the pockets however - they keep your hands super warm when inside
