        Comments about REI Tri-Power Whistle:

        This whistle is incredibly loud without having to blow too hard. The multiple pitch gives it a unique sound.
        The only problem is that the pea inside of the main whistle chamber is made of cork and will swell and stick to the side of the chamber when wet. Its not too hard to cut out the pea, but if you want to keep it, make sure it stays dry.

              Two concerns for a survival whistle-- durability and volume. Passes both. Appears well-made (can't say all that much here), and this thing is the loudest whistle I have ever heard. With only a bit of effort you can produce ear-splitting whistles.

              Bought it for doing bird surveys by foot in rugged terrain, and it adds a degree of comfort I didn't have before.
