Comments about SmartWool Hiker Street Socks:
I own a few differnt styles of smartwool, wigwam, and rei premium socks. These were my favorite until last week, 4 months into wearing them, the wool in the heel area is eroding. I can spend $10 on a 6 pack of hanes old fashion white socks and they'll last 3 years through intense washing/wearing. These were super expensive and are only lasting me through 4 months. Wow is that bass-ackwards. I probably wear them 1-2 times a week and my washing of them is as delicate as possible-cold water/mild soap (bronners), and air dry-always. I walk in them in basic gym shoes and stand in them at work in basic black dress shoes. The reason I'm so dedicated to them is that they resist odor way better than Coolmax or Rei socks and they are unbelievably comfy in cold or hot weather. Only thing I can come up with is that I need to buy a bigger size. I'm an 8.5/9 and I go with the medium. Any thoughts? I'm hesitant to recommend these based on this recent incident.

Comments about SmartWool Hiker Street Socks:
Work good. I've taken to wearing generic merino hiking socks because they're cheaper, but these do look nice and they wear just fine. The packaging advises against it but running them through the washer on regular hasn't done any harm.

Comments about SmartWool Hiker Street Socks:
These socks are incredibly comfortable. The socks are soft, yet have a bit of a grainy feel which is pleasant on the bottom of the foot. It is like walking barefoot on a soft, wool carpet. The socks are supportive dont slip down my leg at all.
Overall, I am very pleased with these socks and I wish that I had found these ages ago rather than buying other brands.

bought 6 pairs almost 2 years ago. They have lasted well, but are starting to fail at the toe. I will be replacing them with the same sock cuz they are comfy!!

Comments about SmartWool Hiker Street Socks:
My wife bought me a pair of these because she knows how much I love my other Smartwool socks (phd cycling). They are the softest of the Smartwool socks I own and they are very comfy.
I do think they are pricey and I am concerned they will wear out quickly like my Smartwool Cross Walks have. Less than a year after buying the three pair of Cross Walks and both the heel and ball of the foot have worn through.
I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Comments about SmartWool Hiker Street Socks:
These are amazing socks! They are beautiful and comfortable. It is inconceivable to me that Americans can stagger through life without these; I have 13 pairs. Buy these socks and you will look forward to waking up in the morning and getting to work or school or whatever else you have planned. Your whole day will be much brighter, happier, and more productive. If I were scheduled to be executed, (i.e. by lethal injection, beheading, etc.) I would want to be wearing SmartWool Street Hiker socks when I breathed my last.
Seriously, these socks are awesome!
