The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Hiking Socks - Women's:
These socks cause blisters and they chafe. Thought I was going to have to change my hiking boots until I discovered the problem was the sock. The last time I went snowboarding, the top of these socks were so tight that they cut off circulation, and it took a week for the lines to disappear from my legs.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Hiking Socks - Women's:
I've used Thorlo hiking socks for years and wanted to see if the REI merino socks would wick any better. I ended up with bad chafing on my ankles. I wear wool without issues, but these are an inch and a half taller than thorlos with a tight band at the top. This hits me in the calf, and if I turn down the socks to avoid a blood clot, its extra tight with too much chafing to wear more than one day. I wear tall boots, so the short socks won't work. Luckily I have a serger so I can trim the top band off and still make these work, but I'll be going back to thorlos unless REI shortens the sock (in the liners, as well)BTW, my legs are long enough that I have to buy "tall" socks in street socks to fit.

Bought a size medium which is supposed to fit Women sized 6.5 - 10. Foot is so large that heel stops on ankle. Very unhappy with purchase. Socks are grossly mismarked.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Hiking Socks - Women's:
First of all, a disclaimer: the only wilderness I see regularly is the urban jungle. I wear these with exclusively with Doc Martens and galoshes, and on an occasional hike. That said, I have owned and worn these socks and the equivalent SmartWool version for 3+ years and both brands have served me well. For me, the main difference is in how they age. The REI socks have stayed soft and stretchy - I enjoy pulling them on in the morning, and they have retained their cushioning a bit better than the SmartWool. That said, I recently noticed my REI socks beginning to wear through where heel meets ankle. In contrast, my SmartWool socks, though a bit stiffer and more matted for wear, have yet to show holes.
But honestly, any sock that can keep up with me for 3 years is doing its job just fine.

Wore different socks first day of trip - no blisters, felt great. Wore these second day, within 3 hours, my heels were killing me. Same shoes - different socks. I'm blaming the socks.

I wear clogs a lot, and was worried that my usually cold feet would be really cold in winter. Not with these socks! The wear for years, and wash in the machine without problems. I hang dry them just to be safe since they fit so well. Wonderful socks.

I love these socks. I teach outdoor education and spend hours on my feet. I love how these socks feel from the moment I put them on to when I take them off. I am very aware of how good my foot feels when I slip them on. I love them and are now my sock of choice.

Comments about REI Merino Wool Hiking Socks - Women's:
I have tried every supposed warm sock on the market and this one is the warmest I have found. My feet seem to stay cold but not in these. They form perfectly to the foot with no bunching and wash well. I currently own 1 pair that I wear every other day between washings and they show no signs of wear. Back today to buy more so I can wear them everyday.
